"I'm gazing at faces
Staring blankly at me
I suppose it's just a sign of the times
They tell me tomorrow will never arrive
But I've seen it end a million times

I lost my direction while dodging the flak
Oh give me a hint or something
Now they can erase us
At the flick of a switch
How long will they wait
No!
There...

So the weekend went rather well. I spent the better part of Saturday with an old friend who was out here in Seattle for a job interview. He was expensing his trip, so we managed to take advantage of that with some good sushi and beer! smile I did practiacally squat today: a little drawing, a little reading, and I'm cooking up dinner right now while...

Ugh is the word for last night. puke Update on my journal so I won't bore you with the details. And you and I should get together next prom. We'll ignore the ladies, get really drunk, and sing some drunken pirate songs! tongue
trixel:
Oh and dropping off a warm, full, long lasting hug.

There you go. It's got no expiry date, so save it for when you really need one. smile

Hopefully that dark cloud that was over head for most of the week has moved off for good. At least the weekend affords me some time to relax a little.

What is about taking a shower that puts terrible '80's tunes in my head and demands that I sing them with gusto?

*with soap streaming into my eyes...*
"Standin' on your mama's porch
You told...

hooray for feeling better, hooray for brian adams in the shower! smile
trixel:
And apparently Mr. Adams was the virtual wafer thin mint needed by your adorable profile pic. surreal

He's in Victoria. He's more of an inspiration than any possible reality, I think. I feel there is something I can learn with or from him.

I'm off to shower after my workout. Then off to the village with my morose friend and my sister. I'm glad to hear your cloud lifted. kiss

I dunno. It's been a tough week at work. I'm wiped out. The recent events in Iraq have chilled me to the bone and left me feeling empty. Not much of a desire to get on the 'puter and write or update.

It's been one of those weeks where every choice I've made in my life seems to press in on me and demands to...

I am there with you. I've been talking to an individual who is studying robotics, is a classically trained musician and a chef. He bikes competitively. He's smart. He's funny. He's so full of energy. Talking to him has been wonderful, but it's also made me realize that I have similar capabilities to his but apparently lacking the organizational skill and gumption to actually pursue my dream: developing robotic prostheses.

Everyone I know seems to have chosen a path and is happily wandering down it.

Also, I'm getting small biological clock pangs. My body knows it's likely not going to get its way and produce anything.

What strange, wonderful and creepy art. I really like the Waiting Wife. kiss

I just heard about some of those recent events. chilling indeed. frown

Saturday morning ritual complete: Take the dog to the coffee shop and enjoy sitting in the sun for 20 mins. or so. Then a nice long walk around my neighborhood.

Nothing set in stone for this evening. I'm trying to decide if I want to go out, or stay in and watch a movie (Versus). I hope everyone has a great weekend, no...

Sometimes i spend all week looking forward to my weekend rituals. Fortunately as a shift worker i try and build my weekend rituals into my mid week rituals biggrin Soemtimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

I want to sit outside under the tree at Joes Bar sipping coffee and chatting with you and some suicide girls...

omg ...who would i choose??

smuffy:
Hi sweetie!

I was gone for like 5 days. Did you even notice?biggrin

Anyway, your Saturday sounds pretty kick ass. Most of mine was spent shopping for mother'd day gifts and then going to the movies. No drinking for me unless you count Sobe. It has a massive amount of sugar and I had two bottles. blackeyed

Since I spend so much time in front of a computer during the day there's really been no desire lately to get on one when I come home. "Burn out" I think it's called. Yet, here I am updating this goofy journal.

The only real thing to note this week is that I picked up tickets to see My Morning Jacket and M.Ward next Tuesday....

HAH! I had to reread the first part a few times as I thought it said the "hooch" was not happy! tongue

That being said... YES! Get off your butt and start something creative again! Creativity, and art itself, are the fuel of the soul! Without it, in it's many incarnations, life as we know it would not exist. So go out and be imaginative. Birth something from your intellect and wandering id. Go! NOW! wink

And btw... I dig the tattoo. Reminds me of this Cthulhu peice I've been bouncing around in my head for awhile. I've got so many ideas for tattoos and no money. frown Time for a second job! tongue
smuffy:
Get off this site and start getting creative my friend.

We will all be here at anytime you decide to come back and check in with us.kiss

Insane weather day here in Seattle: thunderstorms, 60mph gusts, sunny, rainy, cat & dogs, you name it! 1 1/2 hours it took me to get home! This, mind you, is on average a 20 minute commute. Accidents etc. blah blah held up traffic. You'd think that for as often as it rains around here, people would have a better grasp on the basics of driving...

Hey 'pocus how are you doing? The weather on this end has been really great the last few days. I took a few days off and worked around my house AND worked on recapturing my sanity.
Aside from having to avoid lousy drivers on a rainy day, sounds to me that you don't have a bad job at all smile Good for you! Have a nice day.
