Do you enjoy good thrillers that keep the energy up with unexpected developments? Then may I recommend 2004’s Collateral, which has all you’re looking for: good cast, good performances, good plot, good writing, good action, and good tension.

Do you enjoy actually great big-budget action movies done extremely well? Then may I recommend Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning, which sports a simple-dimple plot, perfect for the genre, and has amazing stunts, amazing sequences, is fresh, high tension, and everything you want in such a film. Fab!

Do you enjoy surprisingly good action/heist movies with strong lady leads—w/ no cheesecake? Then may I recommend Wingwomen (English title), which has action, heart, and humor. Best part, for me? The love-is-love aspect that was expressed so naturally and easily. Refreshing and encouraging.

My gosh. The season finale of For All Mankind was the most suspenseful science fiction I’ve ever seen, movie or TV. So much at stake, so much happening, so much going on—none of it certain. Excellent show. Golly do I hope it’s renewed.

Do you enjoy film noir that’s dark because it’s basically “ugh, fucking humanity—damn” throughout? Then may I recommend The Strange Love of Martha Ivers, which doesn’t let up because every character is The Worst in their own special way—a way that makes for a compelling story actually.

Do you enjoy dully predictable low-budget haunted house / folk horror movies with a wholly unnecessary amount of nudity? Then may I recommend The Sitter (2017), which though it has the creepiest af haunted house owner in ever—I want more of him creeping it up everywhere—does not do anything worthwhile with its time.
