Instead of going East-Northeast ( Great Lakes/ON ) this upcoming Roadtrip, I'll be heading opposite : West-Southwest ( SD, WY, maybe as far as AZ/NV? )
With 11days from rental pick-up to last full day, lots of possibilities !
Suggestions always welcomed ( but NO big cities! )

146::
My fathre is finally back at his home - only 146 days since he'd left for a "routine procedure" *sighs*
he's turned around SO amazingly, since in the first months the odds were miniscule that he'd survive, let alone doing this well !

He remembers very little - probably a good thing? - doesn't remember my visiting at all for a week in...

taking 'advantage' of my temporarily sporadic internet, I've spent the day doing laundry & cleaning up the apartment... during which time I encountered two separate people moving out, who each had 'stories to tell' aka 'ranting to strangers' :D !!

Tales From The Apt Complex (Comedy Edition) ::

1st fellow moving out I'd seen before, a fellow I dubbed "High Boy" due to his perpetual...

just 5 weeks away from my Roadtrip ...
yes, I still have hopes I can do my Great Lakes-Ontario roadtrip
...but if the border doesn't open & places along the lakes Ontario-side don't open, well... that'll put a li'l hamper on that direction of travel
( there's always next year? )
IF I have to shift directions, south-westward is the most likely - avoiding...

@infernum I've done all my traveling alone ( with only two exceptions in my lifetime ) - I only started doing my yearly roadtrips about 6yrs ago... it's been amazing, picking a random direction each time, no plans other than paying attention to when I need to return the car rental by :) - funny enough, everywhere I've gone, I've ended up knowing someone where I went that I hadn't seen in years ( and had no idea they lived there! ) - crazy odds!  If I do get to do my Great Lakes-Ontario "plan," I don't think I know anyone I've met before in canada, so would be the first time :)
wolfox:
@infernum the two exceptions to traveling alone weren't roadtrips - so I'm still 100% on that one *laughs*

why, yes, I did eat 6 croissants at work today & yes, I had 20 piece nuggets & large fries the other day at work ... what? don't act like you've never been hungry!
and, no, that isn't "a lot" for me - though I normally don't eat at work, this week I've been hungrier than usual

🤣
wolfox:
@spicedsoychai @shalil it's an assumption by some that I don't eat a lot, since I rarely take a break at work ... others think I don't eat a lot since I'm relatively thin ( with a well-earned additional 50lbs I blame the belly on my daughters :) )

while shopping, 30+yr old w/ his seemingly-elderly mother "mom, mom, mom, MOM, I need THESE..." [waves arms around an energy drink display] "OH MY GOD, Mooom, they have coffee now, COFFEE, MOM! mom, mom, mom, are you listening? Moooom, come back!"

unita:
Oh, so cute🥰

at first I thought maybe he had a medical or mental disorder, but after a bit ( and seeing them later ), just a very spoiled grown-up :(

turn on the tv & suddenly hear, as I'm turning away, "...that's 3 inches of wonderful" - have no idea WHAT the commercial was for, as it ended, but - Oi! it had me laughing my bleedin' head off :D that's what I call timing :D

Yes, things are... insane... to say the least. Locally, nationally, & worldwide.
For some reason - at least locally & a bit nationally from watching the news - people think laws & rules no longer apply :(
This could - and SHOULD - be THE perfect time for people to prove they're decent, good people, but the inverse appears to be the case...

ANYways...

First off : most humans are idiots.

Seriously.

When given the choice between doing the right, let alone legal thing, most people will do the opposite - often purposefully, if not ignorantly.
The purposeful ignorant are out in droves - and either don't understand or don't care how it will affect others :(

I'd make a 'case in point,' but all you really have to...

My friends have - and DO! - run the gamut on many things :
personalities, races, nationalities, body types, mental types, abilities & disabilities, social 'status,' beliefs - and lack thereof, etc etc

the majority of my friends I've met in - or within a mile of - Minnesota ... many whom were only in the state a short time :)
which has led -...
