Today I was shafted by a friend of mine while I was in the car with her. What a colossal bitch-wad. I think she's just used up her last chance.
acidgrampa:
Thanks. Good to be back.
archernu:
- Indeed you are the Great Cosmic Scapegoat. Take it as a compliment, though. wink

- I will show you the letter when I finish it. I stupidly stopped writing it for fear of not finishing my After Effects project. I say stupidly because my entropic touch made its ubiquity known again and, as I should have anticipated, after five hours of stuggle animating a ten second project, my file corrupted itself and ceased to exist. Its a good thing my monitor is tethered to both the wall and my case, because otherwise I'd have thrown it out the window in a fit of unmitigated rage.

- Something similiar happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I shot my friend the look of "Are you fucking serious?" He was. I've since deleted his phone number from my mobile, and its not being re-entered any time soon.

Oh my fucking god.

Today at work Scotty "Too Hotty" Westfall introduced me to the most brilliant invention in the history of the entire fucking universe. He had some chocolate covered thingies in a bucket, and thinking they were chocolate covered peanuts (may as well be chocolate covered poo, as far as my refined palate is concerned) I declined.

He said, "Aw, come on....

So what you're saying is it's not going to be so easy luring you out of the shadows with a corndog?
archernu:
Whoa... This could be the greatest thing to happen my snacking habit since the discovery of Flamin' Hot Cheetos -- which, as an aside, are impossible to find in Boston. C4 could potentially surpass my beloved junk product for the sole reason that won't coat my fingers in bright orange smuck. Whatever happens, I'll blame it on you.

Yesterday I was nearly run over in the grocery store parking lot by some fuckwad in a Hummer. I found myself yelling, "You're dangerous! And not in a sexy way!" Inside the store he caught up to me to apologize; he told me I'm very funny, and actually tried to ask me out.

I raised an eyebrow and said to him, "Didn't you hear me...

Evil. Evil I tell you!!
But it does make me laugh and I could certainly use it today. So thank you for the horrible midget cursing.
This time... wink

freakpirate:
I'll be more careful in the future... but I know that I'll slip up some time and then... and then... oh the midgets there shall be...

I'm a little bit amazed at how many Rod Stewart songs it turns out I know.

I like the Small Faces. I do not like Old Croaky Sings Standards. It makes me sad.

The dark side can not be denied.

Welcome back.

HOW VELOCITY SURVIVES A DAY OF CORPORATE TRAINING

Oh, corporate training! Nothing else cools the blood quite like it. This morning I spent three hours drawing various little hats on all of the people in our 'Participant Handbook', then I wrote nine haiku about hats. After lunch I drew some more hats, made a samurai hat out of paper and wore it, and wrote a...

I saw another cake in the road today. Didn't hit it this time, though. There' probably still frosting in my poor car's nethers from the last one.
mk700c:
HEy dalrin'

there's an NZ band playing here sometime soon... THe Datsuns... know 'em?

*note: excuse the poor typing I was riding outside and my fingers are verrrrrty cold.
mk700c:
We do like it dirty, here in the motor city.

They are playing at the Magic Stick, which is pretty small. It's where the SGB was on the first tour. Perhaps I'll venture over.

Always sad when another "bastard" dies off.
I'm saddened, saddened like a monkey who's lost his rubber throw toy in his cage.

Yesterday I got to babysit my week-old godson, Ian, while his parents went to see the Pixies. He's the most astoundingly unfussy baby, and it was good to have him here. Somehow the news that my grandfather had died was buffered by the soft squeaky baby in my arms.
unravled:
Ohhh! I want a baby! I mean, not my own, but one I can borrow on occasion.

The patriarch is dying. Tomorrow, my father and grandmother are going to the hospital to confer with doctors and decide if he should have emergency surgery which has a 90% chance of killing him, or if they should just let him fade away. I wish them the best; it's not a decision I'd be able to make.

I've never told my grandfather that I love...

He sounds like a great man. I'm sorry you're losing him.

Both of my grandfathers died before I was born. I've always envied people who feel about their grandfathers as you feel about yours.
archernu:
I haven't applied yet, no. While I grant that I'm notoriously bad at tying loose ends, as you know, in this case I've been scrambling to catch-up in my coursework - before my incarceration here Northeastern perpetuates itself any further. Excuse? Perhaps. Then again, I've still to see how you roll with a red pen, and that my be just the occasion.

I'll drop a note into his journal. I don't know if getting together is logistically possible, but I'm sure going to try. Provided, that is, he's interested.

Today:

-I saw the most abundant crop of nose hair ever.
-I was commended for my patience at the post office while picking up a package from China. They may have had to go to China to get it.
-I almost ran away with the sausage guy at Whole Foods. He was very charming, and he winked at me.
-I saw two gigantic fat people...

Okay, if random presents show up at your door with no note attached, they're from me.

That goes for all presents from now on.

One week of intensive training down, four more to go. I have IRS regulations dripping from my ears. It's a surprisingly good look for me.

Careful. They leave stains.
