Today I'm going to mail a hat with ears on it to New Zealand, then I get to finally pick up my Valentine's Day shoes, then I'll be meeting my father for lunch at the Indian buffet before we go to the Apple store to play around. Today's going to be a good day.

Today I'm going to, um, process databases. There will be no playing around, no indian buffet and no apple store. So...eh...enjoy it for me? Eh?
mistersatan:
Thank you. smile

I just became a member of Public Television. Good deed done, now I can go back to being a selfish bastard for the rest of the year. Or actually, for the rest of the mid-morning, until I go help my friends move later today, and then take my sister out to dinner, then help my friends unpack tomorrow, then take my sister to her appointment...

It is entirely your fault that I just ordered "Killjoy." Are you proud of yourself?

And, didn't you just take yourself on a date. My, how quickly we forget. If your ego got in the way any more oft- Yeah... I don't have a leg to stand on there, not even in jest.
shad:
I did the boring and obvious thing and started at Generation X. I have such a freaking pile of books to get through right now, I can't afford to settle on one author for too long. Haven't decided what my next coupland book will be, and if I'll read it before or after Chabon.

How do you know when gorgonzola cheese has gone bad? Seriously, it's already stinky and riddled with mold.

squid_vicious:
Fancy cheese starts out bad and should be avoided at all costs. It smells like french people.
ginny:
One of these molds just doesn't belong here...

At the doctor's office today, they made the biggest mistake ever. They let me take my CAT scans home with me. I've already begun designing my Christmas cards.

Oh, and no surgery! Yet, that is.

They should have just given you a tongue depressor and a lollipop. The fools!
squid_vicious:
There is an email and an attachment on its way too you. Please treat it harshly and send it scurrying back with its tail between its legs.

Thank you.

I'm getting a catscan today, and then I'm heading straight to work. I think I'm going to have to make photocopies of the inside of my head when I get there. I don't think anyone would classify that as a gross misuse of company resources.

Update:
The inside of my head looks weird.

I've decided I'm going to marry myself, and not in the creepy Dennis Rodman way. I just want to make sweet sweet love to myself in a legally binding union. This is what I did:

First I baked the potatoes, then riced them, let it cool for a bit then mixed in eggs, nutmeg, chopped basil and a bit of milk and flour. I rolled...

But were you playing Al Green for yourself for the post-dinner recreational activities?

Two journal entries in one day? Why the hell not? Don't get used to all this attention, though. I'll forget you guys even exist by tomorrow. It's only been a few hours since the last update, but significant things have happened that can only be expressed in list format.

1. My sister has finally found out why she's lost 75% of her hearing in the...

Hey, I just wanted to thank you for the New Zealand music cds. I'm liking them a lot.
Juice boxes are the greatest Valentine's present ever. And sipping one in the sunshine with some ex-truckers sounds like a blast.
Sorry to hear about your sister, that's really scary.
lemonkid:
Oh.. I should apologize for my bulimic approach to my friends list, first off. I have.. issues.. with that. hahaha.

There's a gigantic squeal-inducing creepy centipede in my bath tub. Who wants to come remove it so I can take a shower?

Update: Well, it's gone now. I don't think it would fit down the drain, so now I'm a little bit creeped out wondering where it went. At least I can shower now.

God, I'm such a girl. I suppose that's okay, though. These...

What is it with your house and centipedes? I'll get it, but only if you send me more mix CDs. Which, by the way, I received on Monday. Further report when I get a chance to listen to them.
dogslife:
House centipedes are my sworn enemies. The city where I attended grad school was famous for its older buildings (such as the one I lived in for a year) being overrun by the hellish things, and in that time I honed my skills for spotting and killing them. I came to perfect a choreography of slaughter for dealing with multiple adversaries simultaneously in low light.

My skills are for hire, if the price is right.

I've come to realize that my threshhold for remembering anything whatsoever about a book I've read is about two years. So instead of buying new books, I've decided to reread all the books I remember enjoying, but can't for the life of me remember the plot.

My sister says the same thing happens to her, and she says it's because we read so many books...

Oh, and Zack hasn't returned my e-mail yet. He mentioned last year that he sometimes avoids checking it for weeks at a time. I should call him, but I can't think of a time when the shop would be open and he wasn't tattooing anyone. *shrug* I guess I'll take a shot-in-the-dark today or tomorrow.
dogslife:
Exactly. When they ask, obliviously, "Do you have a photocopier?" I like to step up close to them and lean in so I can whisper conspiratorially, "That would be illegal." Then I nod knowingly, like I pity them for having broken parole so close to the end of their sentence.

The world never ceases to amaze me.

I never thought it could happen, but I just saw a commercial for salsa that made me laugh so hard I couldn't catch my breath. Imagine that.

We get a lot of memos.

Over that past week at work I have made twenty-six little origami elephants. Then I made little marching band uniforms for all of them out of post-it notes. Today I started making the memo-gators, who seem to have developed a taste for little elephants.

I made an installation piece on my friend's desk that is essentially one large memo-gator,...

I've never heard of that place, though I have a book written by one of the owners. How did I not know you were a beer fanatic?

I thought it apt.

Yesterday I had proof that people are actually good, and a few of them worth loving very much. This from a day that had potential to suck worse than any in recent history. I'm happy.

I think I'm going to take myself on a date today.

I think this is a story that needs telling.
archernu:
That's a serious amount of potential suck that you seem to of avoided. Congratulations on that.

How was your date?
