I slept for shit last night, trying not to listen to the people in the apartment next to me having sex. I don't want to be home, not yet, but I suppose I'll adjust. Pardon me if I'm a bit emo for the next few days.

Okay, now I have to go clean out the refridgerator. There are a lot of things in there that...

Back to the airport today. Let's see if I can do it without crying this time. Signs point to no.
unravled:
I hate airports so fucking much. Coincidentally, it's a recent development. I didn't hate them a year ago.
zaksmith:
now an airport is definitely a place where you can get a ham and cheese pastry.

I was asleep for about 45 seconds before he woke me up. and in that short time I had a dream. I dreamed we were at a car dealership, and they were going to bring out their new fast-car model for us to test drive. He was really excited; he'd been waiting for a long time. This was the car of his dreams. It was...

I think the first thing you and I ever talked about was Aguirre. Cue golden-hued montage.

Salumi is closed on the weekends.... arrrrgggh!

I had the best damn sandwich today. I have little else to say, except that I'm very happy about nearly everything in my life right now, including the sandwich. I guess when people get happy, they get boring as shit.

Thanks for the tip. Will do this weekend.

I also like the minimalist technique, I like that some authors can say so much in such a concise and complete way. But that is more about communicating moments. Flashes of emotion, rapid details, like when you're recalling a story to a friend. And I can appreciate and be entertained by such a story. But it is much harder to be THERE. On the other hand, the flowery verbose writing style of the earlier 20th century... WELL... good luck NOT seeing that puddle of alien urine with the soggy cigarette butt.

We have had such incredibly awesome lunches for the past three days that we haven't had any dinner. After miso, tonkatsu and crunchy rice (following Top Pot Donuts for breakfast), we may not be having dinner tonight either. It's a shame, I have everything I need to make gnocchi with prosciutto vodka cream sauce.

Damnit. I'm coming over.

I hate airports. Airplanes are okay in my book, but airports are full of so many opportunities for fuckups. Yesterday I spent too much time in the airport reading a book with too many plot holes for my liking.

I've reached my destination, had a good steak and a decent sleep, and today I have the best of company and a cup of tea. I...

Yeah, I'm doing the airport thing tomorrow. They're awful.
mistersatan:
I can't remember either, actually. It was really good, though.

Edited for mystery.

Today at a stop light, the intersection was overrun by zombie dental hygienists. There were about fifty of them, and they all had the little matching outfits with gloves and masks.

Okay, so maybe they weren't zombies, but they were scary and I locked my car doors anyway.
dogslife:
Oh, so it was just 50 dentail hygienists. Probably migrating just ahead of the thaw.

I really enjoy documentaries about underwater creatures, it seems. The National Geographic documentary Sea Monsters and this one I saw about octopi were awesome.

"Damn it, PBS! I gave you my money, now give me Antiques Roadshow!"

This is what I just yelled at the teevee. I hate pledge week, but apparently I love feeling entitled. Go figure.
dogslife:
Antiques Roadshow was recently re-appraised and it turns out it's worth a hell of a lot more than your pledge.
adjunct:
Apparently my BBC World Service mug was re-appraised and they decided it couldn't be bought, so now it must have been appropriated by the robber-barons at WHYY. They could have at least sent me a note or something.

Dear Woman at the Grocery Store,

Perhaps it would have been better for everyone if, instead of trying to forcibly penetrate my ass with your shopping cart, you'd just have asked me to move. Then there wouldn't have been all of those bruised vegetables, and me telling you off.

Hugs and kisses,

Keri

I'm glad it was just a shopping cart, and not one of those massive baby carrying things, with the plastic truck front and the kids strapped in, mashing the little rubber horn every two seconds and screaming. Then you'd have been reprimanded for endangering her children. By being in the way, or something. Something.
menotyou:
I had someone stick a shopping cart up my ass once. I was constipated for like a month.

I'm the same way, only with Johnny Depp. I think my boyfriend and I have come to the understanding that if Johnny D were to ever proposition me... all bets would be off and every man for himself.

I watched so many documentaries last weekend, I think my head exploded. I'll do further research on that and get back to you.

After some oatmeal and further contemplation, I've come to the conclusion that, yes, my head hath exploded.

And where did the oatmeal... go..

It snowed overnight, just enough to cover the ground in a layer of pure white. There's also a thick fog hanging in the air, I can't even see beyond the porch, making it look as if I've become completely separated from the rest of the world. I like it very much.

I'll just sit here with my cup of tea and a devoted puppy dog...
