Meh. I must update. I was away in sunny exciting Canberra for half of last week, and the weekend. Back now. Things to do.

Lousy update, eh.

aw thank you for the words, mik!

but really it's not so much I'm sad about being alone, I just didn't know how much it can still hurt to be kind of lonely.

I would never settle to be with anyone for a stupid reason. but I can be mopey sometimes. biggrin

Had fun at the hook-up last Sunday. Picnic, then hours of karaoke fun.

TheFuckOffGirl has forgotten my SG username (and hence, her own appellation here) and has taken to referring to me as "FucktardBoy".

walking past that discarded ironing board everyday for about a week made me sad. i guess i started thinking maybe one day i will be discarded like that when my usefulness is lacking.

I got back from Italy yesterday morning, 6am.

26 hours to fly there, 30 hours to fly back.

Sydney-Singapore-Frankfurt-Munich-Trieste, then less than a week later, all the way back.

Shitty weather there some of the time, but mixed in with some warm sunny afternoons. I got a few pics. Maybe I'll put some up next time.

But today, I'll write about Alexander.

He adopted my...

You ruined christmas with all that good info against Lott. I thank you for correcting my flase impression of him but isn't there something useful in Lott's work? I mean honestly I feel like responsible concealed carry can lower crime (though ending poverty would do alot more) and I'd like something to back that up. Is there any ammo for me out there?

Thanks again for the posts in that thread.

For some reason I remembered about this supposed "history essay" compiled from school student essays with funny mistakes and whatnot in them, and I googled it and here it is.
------------------------------------------------

[Ancient Egypt was inhabited by mummies and they all wrote in hydraulics. They lived in the Sarah Dessert and traveled by Camelot. The climate of the Sarah is such that the inhabitants have to...

My poem from this thread wasn't up for a minute before the thread was closed.

I'd like to think I write top notch LiveJournal angst poetry, so I thought I'd share it here.

*ahem*

My insides tear at me
Gashes in my skin
Blood seeps out
Dripping onto the floor
Hate is my friend
My friends are hateful
I watch my blood
Like the ebbing...

A CD mix I made in honour of my Classique Rocque group. I have 3 others in preparation, based on (roughly) the period 1965-1975. This one got circulated to some of the SGAU folks I met on Friday night (*waves!*), as part of our regional group CD swap so I hope they like it. smile

Off to Melbourne for a few days.

Lately, the girlfriend and I have been to a couple of shows -- the Goodies, and the Kronos Quartet.

How's that for a contrast?

Sunday turned into quite a big day. I got a last minute invite to Tropfest, the big short film festival held annually in Sydney. It fills the Domain, a large park between the Sydney CBD and the suburb where I live -- thousand of people out in the late summer evening to see a bunch of short films. Somewhere along the way (from its...

I just saw the oddest thing on campus. (Yes, the rarified environment of an inner city university campus.)

A car driving along a narrow campus road, with SMOO WAGON written in large letters across the top of the front windscreen.

("Smoo", in case you're wondering, is a particular Australian vernacular reference to a lady's, um, intimate ladyparts.)

Then, as I watched it go past in...

So I got back from Coffs Harbour after a week up there. It's a lovely part of the world, sub-tropical northern New South Wales, but it's kind of a dull town. But the whole shindig was at a fancy resort (here) and I have to say, there are worse things than a week of that. A few of us did go to a...
