The calendar tells me that half of the year is over. And in Ethiopia, they're clearly partying like it's 1999...because it is.
What does it say about me that I enjoy seeing what my current salary is in 1972 dollars?
Doesn't etiquette on public transportation suggest that people sit as close to the window as possible? Yes, it's a minor point, but what...

For the first time in a while, I feel a bit more relaxed at the moment...
Last week, we had auditors in at work. That was predictably annoying, but I presume that it's karma paying me back for being one of them for six years. OK, so I don't really believe in the notion of a just universe, but I so want to believe, you...

All I've noticed is that the days are getting colder here - and raining ALL the time.
Where's summer?!
I didn't try that game. I'm rubbish. Fact!
I have no idea who I'd most want to see naked. I'm also indecisive.

yeah, we're gonna see if we can actually bring a DVD player or something that ALL the kids can watch. We brought dinosaur books this time and it just about made them lose their minds. We were fantasizing about showing them "Jurrasic Park" or something. They'd love it.

Are you familiar with Mighty O Doughnuts?

Mmm. I've never eaten a doughnut. I really want to eat one! They deliver. Would it be worth having them delivered?
Many thanks for all those who gave their perspective about whether I should voice my concerns about my friend's rapid engagement, considering her strong tendency towards rushing into relationships. As it is, she sent me an e-mail telling me of the news (which I'd actually learned through a MySpace bulletin). Make no mistake: I do wish her well, but I'm just not convinced AT ALL...

Hmmm.
A friend and former co-worker of mine announced in a MySpace bulletin that she is now engaged. Not surprisingly, she seems quite happy about it, but eight years of knowing her and those eternally awful decisions she makes regarding relationships has me thinking that she's again jumping the gun. The relationship itself seems positive, but, like so many I know, she doesn't like the...

Bitter Auditor, huh? All this time I've been reading it to myself as "Biter" Auditor. I imagined you really liked to bite, but with your wit more than your teeth.
The Seattle International Film Festival is an annual highlight of life in the city. I'm expecting that this year's version will be no different.
Please don't read this story unless you want to be a bit saddened. Good dog, George.
Name a fruit or vegetable which doesn't get the acclaim it deserves and the best movie you've seen so far this year. Please?

More lamentable proof that there's no way that radical changes to curb CO2 emissions will ever fly here until it's probably too late to do anything about the problem. And, yes, I do understand the concerns about the levy hitting the poor hardest---but isn't all of this meant to push people towards public transportation where many of the poor already ride?

Short haired KISS. That was a misstep.
This is the only song from The Elder that I can stomach:
While in the Jeep during the summer months I listen to Rock And Roll Over, Destroyer, and Love Gun constantly.

Today, traffic was snarled throughout Seattle as immigration activists marched from Seattle Center to downtown and back right in the middle of rush hour. I have sympathy for the issue, but I'm amazed that people still think that waving signs and dramatically disrupting traffic will result in any discernible positive change of opinion regarding...
