I am very stubborn, and believe that I may be hypersensitive to many things that others see as harmless. So I probably try to change too many things, given I'm only one person, but I also know that I won't ever stop trying. I feel that big problems often start from small, seemingly harmless comments and attitudes. (I contribute to the problem as much as the next person.)
I don't bend on some core beliefs, but over the last few years I've become more receptive, listening and opening my mind, reevaluating many of my perceived values to make sure they are really mine. This helps me not seem too much like some crazy zealot.

Awww that is so sweet. I bet your mother loved you deeply and was very proud of all that you accomplished in life. I love it when I hear of someone having such great parents. I am not so lucky. My parents are not the greatest people. They are addicted to meth and were very abusive to me both physically and emotionally throughout my time under their roof. I supported them as well as my younger siblings from the time I was 16 until last October. I moved in with my boyfriend and his family then due to my dad threatening to kill me. So it warms my heart a bit to know that there are awesome parents out there. My boyfriends parents are pretty freaking awesome, if I do say so. So they have sort of become my surrogate parents. I do not know what I would do without them in my life.
