Oh I'm pretty sure I will give it a shot. I'm going to mash as much grain as I can manage and then add some extract to boost the gravity, because I can get malt really cheap but extract is pretty expensive here. As for maudite, I've actually been to the Unibroue brewery where they make it, on a tour with my brewclub - it's just a little out of town here. But I work in the kitchen of a brewpub, and one of my best friends is the brewer...And I get yeast from him all the time, so I will probably use some from him because (a) it's free and (b) I can get a huge jar of it, so no messing with making starters or stuff.

I sampled my large beer. It's a powerful 9.5% abv, yet it yields no immediate indication of its' strength. The only indication is the fact it robs your breath with the first taste. But no burn, just smooth. It smells sweetly of raisin and biscuit with a mild roasten edge. The flavor is less so, with an excellent finish of a very mild bittersweet chocolate....
