I still have a half of the largest pastrami sandwich ever floating around my shit factory. Thanks atomicant, good lunch suggestion.

Also, while there with Crim and Schmelectra we saw the sweetest mullet ever. Ever. It would make Billy Ray Cyrus weep with joy.

Well...come over. Did you have anything in particular in mind?

Keeping busy, eh?

So I guess the camping trip is a bust. I'm disappointed, but my vertigo has been acting up enough today that I don't think I could really drink anyway. I knew as soon as I woke I'd be having a lovely day of dizziness and nausea, so I laid there for probably two hours in a cold sweat wishing it would go away as the...

You're welcome, Suzy.

What's this "we" shit, white man? See, YOU can get away with that kind of thing, what with your Midwest arteries. I fear I've damaged mine too much already, what with growing up on a steady diet of salmon and blackberries. One bite of that and my chest would cave in on itself.

I met with the tax man yesterday for a boring half-hour. I wanted to giggle at first due to his startling similarity to Mortimer Young of Forever Young Films. If you're an Achiever you probably know who that is. If not you're boned.

UPDATE:

I totally helped a little old lady in a motorized scooter at the grocery store without being asked. I'm such a...

Tomorrow is tax day. Sure I waited to the last minute, but I had issues getting all my paperwork sent to the right address.

It was great seeing everybody yesterday at PDXbrunch, and a special thanks to everyone for being so gracious and welcoming to my old college buddy Brian. He was having a tough time that day as his grandfather was in a hospital...

Today I farted around the kitchen and made some Salsa Verde.

Two roasted tomatillos
1 lb green chiles
1/2 bell pepper
1/2 jalapeno pepper
1/2 medium onion
clove garlic
dash of pepper
dash of salt

That all went in the food processor and got whirred up. A dash of lime wouldn't be bad for next time. It was pretty mild overall and had a lot...

It'll probably taste even better tomorrow, when the flavors can really mellow and blend together,

How'd the asphyxiation go?

Through a series of wacky events I got an offer from the head editor of a weekly entertainment paper to write music columns. The only problem is I don't live in Bend, so it's pretty much a no-go. That's a bummer, but comedy writing is really more my specialty.

Sooooo, i just noticed that you are in Corvallis. Makes me feel a bit akward.

Dude, of all people, I didn't really expect you to fall for that. Still...free steak.

I have returned from Buckethead in Bend. The drive to it through the mountain passes was a bitch, but I made it despite the lack of attention to the road from ODOT. The venue was a little dive place with couches and benches and whatnot. The crowd itself was a bit rowdy, and made up from walking teenage stereotypes. I saw the Emo Kids, Drama...

Boring Bored Borreeeeeeed

Really I am. So I wrote this little gem. Read it and tell me how not funny I am.

In other news, I just found out Planters stopped making Cheez-balls. I'm crushed.

It's like a bomb went off in a diaper pail or the burger itself has vomited.

True, it's funny.

I loved your review. I'm going to go pick up two of those bad boys tomorrow. I'm pretty sure they will not satisfy.

When it comes to chili burgers, it's damn near impossible to top a Tommy's burger (a Southern California institution). So the bar is set pretty high.

So my chocolate stout is about half-carbed right now. Another week or two should finish it up nicely. And in the interest of getting even fatter, I'm thinking about making a dry rub for my ribs with dry malt extract. It's got all sorts of nice sweet qualities, plus depth of flavor brown sugar simply does not deliver. Plus it's kinda like eating beer.

A guy I work with told me malt extract is great in pancakes. I've never tried it but I did make some bread with malt extract and spent grains/wort from a batch. It turned out pretty good. I'm all about eating beer in as many ways as possible.

You should come with next time. It was super fun, and not gay at ALL.

So I saw The King of Kong awhile ago. Pretty interesting to see it takes place in Ottumwa, Iowa. I went to college in that shitty little town, and saw the Twin Galaxies pretty much everyday downtown. I noticed the lack of exterior shots, and for good reason. It was right next to the Triple-X Theatre, the creepiest place you'll ever see. And directly next...

Dude, I just got done explaining to Spork that this is for people on my ignore list.

It is a good way to weed out which of my friends are secretly gay, though.

Tomorrow I make an IPA showcasing the aromatic properties of a hop new to me, a Polish hop named Marynka. It's touted as being very strong with pleasant pine notes and soft fruit undertones. This will be supported by a grain bill entirely of Munich and will be finished up with a strong dryhop in secondary. In addition a tincture of spruce tips will finish...
