I almost made it a full month without posting again. Oops!

Life is good. My dad is out of the hospital and growing very tired of watching TV (He's still pretty banged up and in home recovery). He plans on getting back to work in the next few weeks, and should be in pretty good shape when I make it home at the start of...

I used to work 6 days a week, Monday - Saturday. In my part of NJ we have Blue Laws, which basically shut down everything on Sunday that wasn't food related. Needless to say, it made for a shitty day off.

Welcome back!
Stay safe!!!!!
Happy to hear it was minimal damage.

Things have finally settled down a bit, and I've been back in NYC for a week. My dad is in rehab and expected to make a full recovery. He was T-boned on a highway by a girl going 60mph. After seeing his car, he is now one of the most lucky people I know. He had to have surgury to take his stomach down from...

a lucky man, indeed. Glad to hear he's on the other side of things.

Glad to hear that your dad is recovering as well as glad that Manhattan was the right choice!

Premature trip back home to Nebraska. My dad was in a bad car accident and is in surgury right now as I sit on a plane in Chicago. I'm pretty shooken up. His injuries aren't life threatening and he still has his sense of humor so I'm thankful for that.

It's Leap Day!
Normally I'd be leaping for Joy to have such a fun extra day on the Calendar. But having just completed a lengthy list of chores and errands, I'm feeling extra lazy. Trying to find motivation to find something new today in the city.

I really could go either way right now. I'm going to explore yelp and frommers to see if anything...

Ah. well tell her to hire my wife for some nice local work or base of operations biggrin Mine loves the field, when she does go back to grad school, it might only be for her master's, she doesn't plan on leaving the field for quite awhile.
njzombiehunter:
What places have you checked out?

Alright, I'm back! The membership expiration took me by surprise, and I waited until I got the discount offer email to join back up (Thankfully it didn't take too long). I realized how much I missed it this time, in the past I've been ok without being on the site for a couple weeks, or even a couple months, but in the past couple months...

Not our house, but 6 of our neighbors.

NY can do that to you. Next thing you're living on caffeine and cocaine to survive your work day. tongue

That is the problem with NYC!
Hope you got the $29 deal!

My long work weeks are impacting my blog ratio. Oh well, I still like what I do.

I had a great week going to check out some of the night life in this town. On Tuesday my coworker (an aging hippie) invited me to see Johnny Winter perform at BB King Blues Club on times Square. I still think it a little odd to have...

I got to see PTPS twice before Bettina left. I have a huge crush on her. Took a lot of great shots, which are up on my Flickr. Sample shot:

The interview was with a recruiter, so she is looking into a few possibilities for me. Hopefully something will come up! Thanks for asking!! kiss

SNOW! biggrin

I don't have to shovel it.

I don't have to drive in it.

My subway commute was exactly the same time and length.

I get to enjoy it for all that it is. Big city living is good.

Woo hoo! Two days off!

For some reason, I went from having way too much time on my hands, to far too little. I'm thinking on being a tourist and check out cool stuff in the city over the next two days. Any suggestions? (I'm avoiding places like Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building because I have friends coming throughout the year that...

We normally dress rockabilly to go, but you don't have to. But it is funnier when you come out and the stoners think you came out of a time machine.

I'm almost done with How I Met Your Mother on netflix? What I am gonna do after I finish the next season?

So life it still good, and the job is pretty nice too. The Miyazaki film festival at the ifc is finished and I got to see most of the movies I wanted. Any fans out there?

Also, I started baking again. Last night...

I agree 100% with Darke. One of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time.

What other television shows are you into? And any specific genre??? I love crime ones, so I have many of those to recommend. Sons of Anarchy, Lie to Me, Bones, and the list goes on. smile

Training has made December a very busy month. It dies down a bit soon, and I'll hopefully be able to catch up with my friends on here again.

Sidenote: Discovered what a Pastrami sandwich is supposed to taste like.

Heaven!

I know! Last year at this time we had a blizzard.
It makes me nervous that we will have snow until May!
laceyk:
Hope you don't have to work tomorrow!

Hard to keep up with blogs when you're away from home for 12 hours a day. I'm off in a few to the last day of training for the week, then I get to have a little fun this weekend smile Crap... I gotta go. Real short blog entry
mydogfarted:
Yay for end of training. Hope that means no more trips to Long Island.

The new job training is in HICKSVILL Long Island. Seriously? I came from Nebraska, I'm trying to leave all things "Hick" behind. In all honesty it's rather amusing smile

What isn't amusing is the Long Island Expressway. Day one of the job started at 11, so I had a leisurely ride to work with minimal traffic. Today, work started at 9:45 so I pretty much was...
