Guardian Angel

Last night I saw an Angel:
she had a tale to tell.
Her eyes were Sunken and Drawn:
she looked a little Pale.
Her body was Bruised and Battered:
her wings were Ripped and Torn.
She hardly had the strength to walk:
She looked so Tired and Worn.
Angel I asked how could this be?
she turned and smiled and said to me.
"These Bruises are from shielding;
in times both Dire and Ill.
The drinking and the drugs you've used...
I've often paid the bill.
You see what this has done to me;
my Wings are Ripped and Torn.
How many times I've saved you;
from the evil that you've scorned.
These Cuts and Scars are all that's left...
of Broken Dreams Destroyed.
So many times you've made me;
wish that I was Un-Employed.
I hope that you will wake up;
and break out of your shell.
Stop living your life so Corrupt;
and realize that you have a Tale to Tell!"
