Art Brut = fucking rad. Buy the album when it comes out. I wouldn't give you bad advice, would I?

If you must hear them, check out Fluxblog, who has an MP3 you can download.

Does Bad Brains really make you sad? Because I saw H.R. do a dub-ish reggae gig about a month ago and it was really rather uplifting...

So I'm over at my grandmother's the other night, and we're watching the news while we talk. They move into their segment about Iraq, the usual "8 soldiers were killed in Baghdad today.." blah blah blah.

My grandmother says "I'm so ready for this mess to be over with. We had no business being there in the first place, and we're not helping anything there...

Have you checked out The Last Gang in Town, the Clash biography? It has a lot of good stuff on Pub-Rock, and sort of refutes the myth that punk (at least punk musicians) was a rejection of that style of music. Good stuff.

My favorite bands haven't changed in years. Is this a bad thing?

X
Elvis Costello
The Band
The Beach Boys
The Beatles
The Stooges
Talking Heads
Television

What else do you need? It's hard for new music to penetrate that. I could listen to a new album, or I could listen to the above. Which is it gonna be?

Your park/neutral switch (most likely) or your brake light switch (less likely) may be out of adjustment.
The car uses input from the p/n switch to allow the brake/transmission switch interlock solenoid to release the shifter from the park position, but only when the brake is applied hard enough to turn on the stop lights.

If the problem is getting worse, it will probably continue to get worse until the car is no longer driveable without exessive shenanigans. I can't really give any sort of educated opinion beyond that as I haven't seen the car in person. If I might be candid, Tauruses suck ass and you'd do well to get rid of it while it's worth anything at all - and before the steering rack takes a dump, a common, frustrating and expensive repair since they tend to vomit power steering fluid out of the reservior endlessly due to a bad design, fixable only by extensive vacuum bleeding of the reservior. Transmissions and A/C are also mucho sucko.

Let me know how things work out.

edited because spelling is kryptonite for me tonight, apparently

new music can't penetrate that...

it most often disappoints me actually...

I bought like 3 new release albums this year...and one of them was the Gang of Four reissue.

I listen to jazz, so I feel your pain...or bliss.

Sometimes a movie's so bad not even Joel or Mike and the bots can make it funny. Life's just like that sometimes.

I cant believe I missed it!

Must have been a weekend story?

What movie was that bad? I have a feeling it rhymes with "Schmar Mores"

For a good flick, i strongly recommend "Layer Cake"
_dictionarygirl_:
Hah I found it almost immediately after you signed off the other night. *dances* Oooh I wish there'd be a journal entry...

I've seen a few episodes with that kind of movie. It makes me sad. It's a good thing most of the movies they pick are hilariously brilliant.

I really wish we could coordinate our pity parties. Nothing makes me feel guiltier than when I'm in a tremendous, unshakeably good mood and my wife decides to ponder how much our life sucks.

Nick Mason is the only member of Pink Floyd who's been there for the whole ride, from the beginning to the present. Through his forty years behind the drums for the legendary band he's witnessed the departures of Syd Barrett and Roger Waters, the arrival of David Gilmour, and even more changes in style, direction, and levels of fame (and infamy) for the group. It's...

How can you have any pudding when you didn't eat your meat?!?!?!?!?!
johnnyzombie:
It is a brilliant book. I highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Floyd, or of 60's rock in general. Mason writes with honesty and clarity about a wondrous band in a turbulent time. There's also an abridged audio book available, read by Mason himself.

I want to thank the SG website for scoring this interview. I really appreciate Mr. Daniels questions, and his smoothness in talking with Nick Mason.

This site has some of the best interviews I've read in years. They are always honest, straight to the point, and not mythologized.

Thanks again, SG!

You know you've got musical ADD when you can't finish an entire Ramones song without hitting the 'Next' button.

Spoiled by technology.
