I read your post, and liked all that you had to say. I read all the other posts as well, and indeed it was a lot to digest.
In my opinion this place has two levels. The first level, which is on the surface, is selling sex. The largest percentage of guys on this site subscribed to see naked female bodies. This is true. The second level is the community, which is the framework this place operates on. People come for sex, and then meet cool people, add them as friends, have drinks IRL, etc.. People keep their memberships on a long term basis for the conversation and to maintain the relationships they've made.
I guess everyone gets angry because they feel like that second level is being sold along with the sex that's being sold to Playboy. I dont think it's unintelligent to make a blanket statement like "I dont think Playboy readers will understand or appreciate Suicide Girls" or that "This place are going to be flooded with wicked pervs soon". We all live in this world and we know how people are and what they're like. But then again, there are a lot of low lifes who are current subscribers, who just put on a good show in chat rooms and message boards.

I suspect the SG crew understand that it's the community that makes their membership "stick". Most porn sites maintain memberships for couple days rather than the typical SG months, in some cases years! Playboy is an opportunity to sell content (pictures) but the real gold of this site is right here... the dialogue between members.
No worries, it's just a case of business working with what they have to reach their typical goals... to make more $$$. There is a good chance that they will be able to do this and maintain the community here.
