Halloween Predictions
These are the costumes I'm sure I will see.

Lindsay Lohan in the prison outfit. Or at Cannes (maybe WITH her passport... ha ha!)
Michael Jackson
Justin Bieber
The blue Avatar characters
Of course, there will also be a group of MTL city workers (usually garbage men), a "sexy" beetle, bumble bee, pancake, paintbrush, whatever (read: stupid costumes that involve...

Thank you for all your lovely feedback on Daughter of Neptune. If you haven't seen it yet, go look, pretty please
Yesterday, was a very, very strange day.
BUT! I finally went to see the Otto Dix exhibit at the Muse des beaux-arts. If you are in the Montral area, or passing through before January, I really suggest you go. It made my head...

Was hoping to be in Montreal this year, but it looks likes I will miss that exhibit, looks interesting. Great to see all the love for your set, it definitely deserved it.

Please stop mentioning Alex K. 'cause each time you do, I get the itch to get more work done and he just finished my sleeve
There is one little furry cat, chilling right next to me, and purring.
I'm not even paying any attention to her and she is purring.
Ah, to be a cat.

I am oh so very happy with the response to Daughter of Neptune, so far. Many of you already know, I sort of suck at responding to e-mails/comments... but I am wholly appreciative of the positive feedback.

My presentation went alright today. I blew through it, like holyfuckfast. Not so great in the public speaking department.
I survived and didn't botch it.

I'm not fluent in anything beyond English - took some German in HS and a little Spanish in Jr High, but my brain just isn't wired right for extensive memorization. My impression is that mechanical, literal translation can work OK for some simple kinds of writing, although come to think of it, the instructions that come with just about every simple product from China these days really suck, so maybe not even then. But for literature or any sort of writing with an artistic component, literal translations don't work very well at all. Literary translation is more art than science because shading and texture can be so difficult to translate. When you're dealing with a writer who has a very profound command of their native language, the task becomes extremely difficult. I can only imagine the challenge involved with trying to translate someone like Vladimir Nabokov into English, or Henry James into Italian.
In the aftermath of the meeting my face had with a chair-back after tripping in my darkened living room last night, it looks like I'll be able to scare small children with no costume at all this Halloween.

I think the following is a wicked example for a german song text,
translated into english. It kind of plays with the whole translation thing...
For the english version typical german school english is used
(as Im probably using it as well), and its kind of a literal translation,
even with german sentence structure, but at the same time very self-ironic.
For a native german speaker the english version
(knowing the words of the original) is really funny, while the german version
is rather kind of tragic-comic.
But I have no idea, if someone who is not native german speaking
can laugh about it, so that would be interesting to find out.

Please take a second to peek at my new set in member review, Daughter of Neptune. Leave your feedback, please

You, you, you, and YOU:
You've got something to look forward to tomorrow.
"What is it? What is it?" The eager boys and girls demanded, jumping about giddily in anticipation.
"Oh, nothing," she replied nonchalantly. "I'll just have a new set up in member review."
Check back tomorrow... I hope you'll like it as much as I do.

Compliments on your gorgeous new set!
I just read through TONS of my blog entries, here and elsewhere.
Some general observations:
I am a disaster. Every other day is, "I have glass in my foot!" "I burnt my hand!" "I was in the hospital last week!" "My toe is broken!" "I have 3 cracked ribs!" Clumsy woman.
I have become significantly more articulate in the last 3 1/2 years.

I am going to a Halloween store to try to figure it out. I don't like pre-made costumes, but maybe I'll get inspired or something.
I've decided to revive a blog that I attempted to start almost 4 years ago. DAMN.

Last night, I got asked several irritating questions. I'd like to bitch about it.
You must like tattoos. Do you have more that I can't see?
Yes.
Where? Everywhere?
....
Will you show me them?
No.
Why not?
I'm not interested in taking my clothes of for you.
(Edit to add: Yes, I did/do always get asked "do they hurt?" Depending on my mood, I...

The guys asking those questions sound like jerks, but I'm wondering, since I don't have tattoos, if it's something people who do have them like talking about. Are there good questions to ask if you're just making small talk? I'm just curious, because I've read a lot of people on the site say they don't like it when people ask about their tats.
When I was going through college, I was a lit. major, and the question i dreaded was "What do you want to do when you get out of school?" I dreaded it not because of the question itself but how it was asked--mostly implying that a Literature degree was sort of worthless...which I guess it kind of is.

I can't even remember the last time anyone asked me any sort of personal question, dumb or otherwise. I just don't seem to incite curiosity.
So, it DOES sound like you guys are excited to see my new member review set next week. This makes me happy. Oh, yes.
I just painted my nails a really cool GOLD. First time ever.
Ah, this sparks a thought!
What do you get the most comments about? Any patterns in what random people say to you?
Me?

I'm a reserved, quiet person until I get to know someone pretty well, and I don't really have any outwardly visible signs of being different. Strangers are always amazed that I'm a race car driver, travel the country to see punk rock shows, etc.
That is a truly remarkable backside!

2. People always tell me I'm skinny. Seriously. 6'1", 170 isn't skinny, it's what used to be normal. I look awesome.
3. Not at all. 'Tis lovely to behold.
4. Same thing happens to me - nobody can ever hear me. Seriously, just pay a little more attention. I sound normal, everyone else is just too damn loud.
Can't wait to see the new set.
