Oh dear friends!!!

I heard a rumor that SG had reactivated accounts so that old folks like me could come back in and manage things in preparation for The Big Change...whatever the fuck that means... Nevertheless, I immediately got back in and here you all are!!

I can't tell you how it warms my heart to see that you left messages for me...

scary.  That being said I'm SO FUCKING thrilled to see you around.  I have been worried!  How are things?  Do update me!
holliday:
I WANTED to at least update to say how unimpressed I am with this new site layout...but I can't find the fucking button to do so...(which is one of the reasons i'm not a fan of this new layout!!!) Argh! So much hate and no place to put it!!!

UPDATE:

I just got the news...Shelter #1 has a space for us!!!

I'm currently packing up some stuff to head down there post haste!

I'm extremely relieved and so grateful too that it's the same shelter we were at, so moving to ANOTHER place won't mess with Roger's head too much. He may be an adaptable kid, but we...

OMG my friend. I had no idea what all was going on. I don't see SG much lately so I missed all of this. Just know that I will be praying for you and I have Faith that things will work out for you. I know it's hard right now to remember that He won't give you more than you can handle. You have friends that love you and something good will happen. If there's anything in this world I can do, let me know.

Well, I was right in the middle of writing an update here...just about to get down to the nitty gritty...when the baby turned off the computer...

I could be really mad about that (i was) but it kind of illustrates the whole point I was trying to make anyway.

I am not the woman I once was. So much has changed.

My friends...

It is terribly easy to feel defeated by life and your place in it. But I have been in some of the darkest holes and still come out for the light. And, the longing you have for pieces of your past self will become a merging of that person into the one of today. Now, that's a kick ass superwoman right there.

What's worse than my husband's drinking?

Child Protective Services.

I may have walked out on him, deep in the middle of the night...but it was never my intention to:
a) never see him again, or
b) keep him from the children.

We've had CPS involved in our lives once before, and it wasn't nearly as traumatizing as I'd imagined...

they really don't give you any credit for doing the right thing, eh?

if the texas CPS' mo is to punish women for leaving an abusive situation...leading to another abusive situation within the system itself, then the system is broken. shit that sounds like a word problem. i still think you acted like the best mother those boys could have. so sorry its put you in a nightmare. hang in there mama.

Texas is not far from Colorado. I am just saying.

So...today is a new day. It's at least SLIGHTLY less aggravating than yesterday, but maybe that's simply due to the fact I'm not REALLY trying to make things happen today.

Truth is, much of my life is sorta out of my hands at this point. I've put my calls in to the right people and now I just have to...

So...we're getting kicking out of our apartment. Or, more specifically, we've BEEN kicked out but we haven't left yet.

I suppose I COULD be really upset by this, but considering we already planned on moving out...I'm thinking this is more like divine intervention.

Since going to Texas to spend time with my birth mom, we've been dying to...

Geeze. I know you wrote this on the 14th and I am surprised to see you have comments on this. Even myself am kind of speechless. I am glad to hear you were moving out anyway, because I can't imagine renting from someone like that anyway. And thank goodness for mothers right, sometimes they do come in handy. wink

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and comment. It's nice that I am not totally alone in my feelings on this whole friendship thing here on SG.

And thank you for the compliment on my shop. smile

Thanks- I'm kind of in the same boat with being a master of none. About the only thing I'm REALLY good at is complaining, apparently.

Haters amuse me. The more they hate, the more I laugh. The harder I laugh, the harder they hate. It's like an evil little merry-go-round. The important thing is, that I'm still laughing.

What's funniest about the people that hate me, and there are a fair few. They're all the most unhappy, un-loving, miserable fuckers I've ever met.

Let's...

In other news...I have an appointment with the doctor today.

One of the more fascinating and functional bits of information to come out of my meeting with my birth mother was getting the low down on some family medical history.

When I talk about being adopted and say something like, "Being adopted isn't just something that happens once in your life, it's...

Sounds like the women in your family might pass along a conductive hearing condition called otosclerosis. The beautiful thing about it is that most cases can be fixed with surgery to close the conductive gap and if the patient has worn a hearing aid in the past they can usually abandon it. Otosclerosis is 4 times more common in women than in men and it usually worsens a little during pregnancy. If you ever feel like you'd want to pursue medical evaluation of your hearing, I can probably put you in touch with a really good specialist (it pays to have connections, you know). smile

It's cool that you're finding out things about your genetic family. Seriously cool...

Thyroid conditions are the suck. I had to have a partial thyroid lobectomy.

Yeah dude I agree. I went to this girl in confidence and she totally ran her mouth and got the facts wrong.........Meh I dunno if I can be mean to her or confront her because she's like the only friend I have here besides my room mate.

Good Morning SG...here I am again.

There has been MUCH going on around here, and as usual, it's kept me from updating.
I'm not even sure where to begin. So let me just blurt this out...

My husband found my birth mother.

That's right. What I couldn't manage to do in 35 years, he did in one single month, of...

Yesterday I actually witnessed green growing things coming up from the ground.

It's been a while since I took the kid out for a walk. Partly because of the weather. Partly because I'm like, 100 years pregnant. And partly because we've been sick.

I hate having us cooped up in here though, so yesterday we braved the somewhat warm, somewhat cold weather...
