I can't shake this feeling that everything is not going to work out...and everything is not going to be ok.
I am seconds away from grabbing my cat, packing a bag and just driving West until my car stops.

Don't get me wrong, I love my girl...but that would be exactly why I would do that. I don't want to drag her down into despair...

I think we all have moments when we feel this way. No matter which way you turn, the road looks like it leads to gloom and despair. Somehow, we manage to come out of it and we keep moving on. Do what you can and try not to let it get to you.

You'll be fine. It may take time, but you'll get through.

Bet you felt better after writing this, too. Amazing how just expressing our thoughts can help release some fears.

May 21st there is a test for a job I applied for. It's dispatcher for a local police station.
$20 an hour. Life would get a lot easier if I landed this job. Oh man...

So wish me luck, slaughter a goat, dance around a fire...whatever it takes to help me get this. smile

Katy is leaving the Pedlar in two weeks, and now apparently Brook put her two weeks in...so it looks like Sanjay may have no choice but to hire me back. If he offers, I am going to ask for second shift. I'd rather do that than first shift.
Be nice to start having a constant paycheck again, and I am thinking if I can get...

I have an interview Tuesday for a call center job for a company that sells plaques. Could be cool.
$23K a year to start, and benefits. IF I get it, I am going to look into getting a better car. I will probably stick with a Subaru, but something newer with better gas mileage. The job would be 40 minutes away, so...not a bad idea....

Life baffles me sometimes.

A friend of mine dropped out of high school, but has always been good with computers. Taught himself all the computer stuff he knows...
now he has a high paying job...and is moving to D.C. to take an ever BETTER job.

No college. Just certifications from the stuff he taught himself.

Starting to think I got into the wrong field. Maybe...

I've met people like that, they amaze me too. The quality that I can see in them and not myself is discipline and will power. Even though I have recognized my weaknesses, I still haven't improved my life, much anyways. Wishes don't fix things, but goddamn I wish I had a different upbringing through school. That I had been taught that I must care for my own life and growth, and to have a bigger and broader perspective outside of my small world where I consume. Wish I had been taught that I will have to fight and work hard for the things in life that I want and deserve, instead of having had every thing and pathway already placed before me and given so easily. So few people fight for anything anymore. We opt for pascifism and the easier more convenient comfort that is offered to us.

2012 has taught me a lot so far and one of the major lessons is I need to stop taking good shit for granted.
Example...my old job.
I am sitting here covering 3rd shift for my old boss because the woman who does it hurt her knee, and I realized something...
I miss this job. Yeah, there were nights when I wanted to slit my...

It is hard to 'do nothing' and get paid for it. In retrospect it sounds better, but I understand why you didn't like it too. I had a job like that and it drove me nuts. I had a friend long ago who was a courier, paid by the hour, and he lost his job for too many tickets -speeding-. When I asked why, since his incentive was to go as slow as possible, he said 'it was boring'. So, all situations can suck, espescially mindless ones.

So I have been thinking about subjective reality and how our perception of the world around us creates our own personal realities...and the more I think about it, the more it really makes sense.
The only thing I am really good at, or confident in myself about, is my snake stuff. I know what I am talking about, and doing...and I am good at it...and...

You know what...life straight up sucks right now.
I am looking for a job, and so far have no real prospects. I am applying to pretty much everything I think I could do, and some stuff I am not even sure of...and still nothing.
I have 2 months before we have to move...nowhere to go and no money to go there with.
Christine is paying...

Fishing season started yesterday. I am going to spring the $38 for my firearm hunting/all waters fishing license.
It was $28 for just fishing and that extra $10 won't kill me...plus it allows me to hunt squirrel and rabbit in the Fall, and buy deer tags if time/space permits me.
We shall see come Fall.
Can't wait to fish again. It's been too long.
Sadly...

I think my neighbor posted his dog on Craigslist.
If he did...the last 2 months in this place will be amazing. That fucking dog barks...constantly...
wakes me up almost every morning.
If it was gone...oh man...

Well, my old boss paid me for the shift I covered last week (I am still in the system apparently), and asked if I can cover Friday and Saturday night for him.
Apparently I am terrible at sticking to my convictions because I said yes.
Money is money...and I need money so...

Convictions don't pay the bills... wish they did! We all do what we have to in order to get by. Some lucky people actually enjoy their jobs. I raise a glass to them and hope some day I can say the same. Til then, we do what we must.
