Try not to get too uptight about your exes...Believe me, I understand what you're going through (I'm also 27 and have done very little traveling...heck, I haven't even gone back for post-secondary education!). Once you put the time into seriously studying it's amazing the sudden progress that happens. It's like slogging through mud, and then all of a sudden you're a bullet train. Wild huh? Congrats on your successes! Keep at it

Don't feel too down life transitions like this all the time. Friends move in and out of our regular lives and the business of making a living frequently intrudes in relationships. Now is the time to find a few new local friends. Experiment with new places to unwind, try new experiences and you'll find new friends...and in time you'll find your old friends will be able to break free and seek you out from time to time, so in the end you will gain much if you take this opportunity. Hope this helps! I've gone through the same thing several times, and it's always rough but it doesn't mean you need to "grow up"
