I'm blocked.
No more tiny tales of small town life are bubbling to the surface at the moment. I really can't grab hold of any thoughts that are racing through my mind. I'm going pretty blank. This sucks.

dmac:
creative juices jammed? I hate it when that happens. I'm facing that right now. It's rather sad to have been on this site for nearly four years and suddenly realize that I've become an infernal bore. I have nothing to say lately.

B-O-R-E.... that spells BORE!!! blackeyed <---that's me

What little switch is it inside our brains that renders us so blank on some days? If you figure that one out, please let me know.

There's too much going on! You'll write again soon enough.

Thanks for the support, friends. It means a lot to me...

I'd like to report that things are settling down a bit, but the truth of the matter is that complications continue to pile up around me. Matters of the heart, matters of the head...

I may have to switch off that part of my life for an hour or two and do some more...

What the fuck ever happened to Michael Keaton?
Is that guy dead?

I always figured he'd achieve Tom Hanks status... and Tom Hanks would be lucky to star opposite a gym sock in a silly local PBS kids show.

Guess who has a red face about that prediction... whatever

Sometimes, the ball of life takes a weird hop. You'd like the field that sucker and get the out at first, but a moment of adjustment and juggling will only allow that the play is made (or not) at third. The best you can do is get your head back on straight and ready yourself for the next batter.

There's a runner on third. He...

I suck at sports analogies. So instead, here are a few random baseball quotes you inspired me to google:

If a woman has to choose between catching a fly ball and saving an infant's life, she will choose to save the infant's life without even considering if there are men on base. ~Dave Barry

What is both surprising and delightful is that spectators are allowed, and even expected, to join in the vocal part of the game.... There is no reason why the field should not try to put the batsman off his stroke at the critical moment by neatly timed disparagements of his wife's fidelity and his mother's respectability. ~George Bernard Shaw

When we played softball, I'd steal second base, feel guilty and go back. ~Woody Allen

Very, very vague extended metaphor. But since I know what you mean: at least you're ready for the pitch.

Nothing will ever be the same again. Ever.

Why am I attracted to women that I shouldn't be attracted to?

This will all end in tears. blackeyed

Edit: this isn't an Oedipal thing.

I love that you felt it was necessary to clarify that it's not an Oedipal thing.

Oh, the horror...
Got on the scale at the gym today. It's worse than I had anticipated... near 230. tongue

At this past Thanksgiving, I was sitting at right about 185... you do the math. Not that gaining that much weight is a good idea to start with, but that quickly... oof!

I'ma gonna have to kick it into high gear, I think. There's a certain...

Thanks to all of you who offered your condolences.

This is the woman that the world lost:

1 -She did not deal in the currency of bullshit. She didn't give it, nor did she take it... from anyone.

2 -She cheated at cards--ALWAYS. She fudged the numbers when keeping score against her husband and closest friends, and she used shady maneuvering against her children and...

Sixty-two years...

I don't know what it's like to know anyone for that long... let alone, love them and be in love with them for sixty-two years.

This morning, Grandpa held Grandma's hand and told her that it was okay to go now. He told her that he loved her very much. He told her that he would be with her again soon...

She took...
