I think Mars Volta only have an EP and the recent full-length out, so I could recommend that. The guitarist and singer were in At The Drive-In, but I think this thing, aside from Cedric's voice, sounds a lot different. More like LedZepplin, Santana, Band of Gypsies, or early 70's prog-psych w/maybe some nods to Radiohead and Bjork. Or something like that. I was pretty sceptical until I saw them live.

I've had some interesting stuff... a few bouts of pneumonia (you've been in the colder climate, you know how it happens... the cold just won't go away)...
I also had something once that I think was called the queen a victoria flu... had a fever that lasted for weeks and peaked at 107 degrees. yeah. bathtub full of ice cubes and everything. 3-week blackout.
I also had the west nile virus. One of the first 50 cases in the US, though I didn't realize I even had it til it was almost over. I survived, though I think my central nervous system still retains the memory.
keep at the coughing, all that practice and you're getting really good at it hehehe...

Chang's.......management's gotten kinda strict there this past summer. no more staying behind at the end of the night, smaller house tabs for everyone, and no more drinking on the job. the Nicest Ass In The World got fired after arguing with another server (who just happens to be married to the manager). another server quit to go back to school, one to go teach school, and another.....no idea. the one manager i tangled with last spring is gone to Milwaukee. they replaced her with a little punk/disco queen named Tristan, who's become one my better friends there. other than that, the place is pretty much how you left it.
i had a dream the other night that i was a journalist covering and competing in a marathon in Surinam, while trying to avoid being killed by communist insurgents.
that was weird.
usually i dream about demons coming to get me......

Yes, and those fuckers were SIAMESE and not CONJOINED and they stayed that way. No crazy surgery that would kill them. They happily lived their unique life in my dreram-world and sold me a lottery ticket that I later lost without knowing whether it was a winner or not.

I run into far too many people (females especially) who have battled the body image demons in the past, and who continue to battle them. I'm raging against them as hard as I can, but other people make it so hard sometimes.
No matter what the Bloodhoung Gang says, thinner isn't always the winner. People who only like you when you're thin aren't worth wasting your time over.
Don't give in to those demons. Rage on...
