Recently, I've been very into alternative methods of healing and nutrition, etc.
I've been using the Bach Flower Rescue Remedy upon recommendation from countless sources about the various ills it can treat and prevent. It seems to be a nerve tonic of sorts, and isn't harmful in any capacity. So far so good, it's been helping me sleep a bit better.

Right on ctricat, chiropratics, reflexology and kenisiology are bullshit. I Have been a martial arts person for almost 25 years, mixing elements of Yoga, Qi Gong, and Chinese herbalism. The unifying factor of these practices is an energy theory that ties into a "state of mind." While I have found that the herbs are for the most part a "shot in the dark" the focus of meditation in martial arts, Yoga, and Qi Gong have realistic and valid results. Likewise, Qi Gong and it's energy theories are one of the only "alternative practices" supported by western clinical research.

Damnit, I'm tired. Better than last week, but I'd still say that insomnia was my middle name.
One interesting result from all of this is that I can wake up from my dreams on CUE. Seriously. If I am dreaming anything particularly annoying, scary, boring, etc., I just wake up. But then, something else happens. I get really bad songs stuck in my head!

Conditions are never just right. People who delay action until all factors are favorable do nothing. So I'm getting very proficient at things that have been most unfavorable. Does this means that I am lazy and never going to take action?

Pretty pic, Bad word. Explain to me how something like that works(?) I understand that it's that you get no joy out of what many others would consider fun or pleasurable, but is it just a empty feeling? Disinterested? Bored?
Personally I think your just a big whiney. It is, quite literally, all in your head.

The only path to finding out what life is about is a patient, slow attempt to make sense of the realities of the past and the possibilities of the future as they can be understood in the present.
True or not?

life is confusing as hell. sometimes i don't think it's about anything. i think about it too much, trying to make sense of it. does it get me anywhere? i'm not sure. it's difficult to tell. is there a satisfying endpoint? is it finding contentedness and tranquility? or are those things only ever brief and fleeting?
sometimes i think the best advice comes from Monty Python: "Life's a piece of shit, when you look at it. Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true. You'll see it's all a show, keep them laughing as you go, just remember that the last laugh is on you."

Insomnia is a gross feeder. It will nourish itself on any kind of thinking, including thinking about not thinking.

I read back in your journal about the strange things we believe as children.
Someone told me about a new world coming into existence every time we make a decision. Hundreds upon thousands upon millions of universes created every day just because someone decides to use exact change instead of getting coins back or other such mundane events.
I've always wanted to meet other versions of myself, to see how certain decisions played out.
Oh, and your lip piercing is nice, I like your current look, well as current as in the picture.

Today is such a perfect day. Weather wise.
I think I have the opposite of typical SAD. I feel gloomy when it's over 85 degrees and ultra sunny. Right now, it's breezy and in the late 70's. In the morning, it was cold enough to be able to wear one of my coats.
Somehow I started collecting coats when I was about 20. Funny thing...

books! fucking hundreds of them!! i have an insatiable lust for books... it's quite a common thing, i'm told, but it seems terribly odd all the same
for the moment i work in a library too, so you have not only what i've bought, but piles and piles of borrowed books everywhere, on every imaginable subject.
i really do just want to eat books.
not quite sure if this counts, but i really wish that i'd collected more 'Kodak moments'. all the photographs i didn't take... i've a feeling i might be regretting that some day.
p.s. i love your new pic, too, by the way

Bleh, yeah body work is no fun. If you're interested, there are alot of places that sell new body panels for relatively cheap(not to mention junkyarding), and its usually not to difficult to replace those, unless there is some kind of frame damage behind that. Really, unless the frame or major structure is damaged, it shouldnt need a body shop. A drill, a hammer, a little sanding, and a can of paint will work wonders.
AC however, is *always* a bitch. 9/10 times its cheaper, and way easier to replace the whole compressor assembly than to try and get it repaired. Also a good think to junkyard for.
Check VW Vortex, its one of the largest VW sites on the internet, and there's a million people who know more than I do, not to mention just a cool place to hang out. The forums are really helpful for stuff like this.

The reman axles are available from a wide variety of sources. I use Pep Boys' house brand at my shop, and have had no problems with them so far, having installed perhaps 150 complete axle assemblies in 6 years.
They run about $75 per side (driver's or passenger's side) retail, plus a refundable core charge. You will likely need a "triple-square" bit to install them, also available from Pep boys (Lisle brand) or maybe Sears. A service manual and floor jack is a must, along with a suitable sized axle nut socket and 1/2" dr breaker bar and assorted hand tools like sockets and ratchets.
It is possible to do it yourself, in the driveway although it isn't fun.

PS - That's one helluva profile pic you have there.

I believed that King Kong was on public display where/when I lived in Fort Sill. The feeling is so vivid, even to this day, that it's hard to fathom.
If I had a doopleganger, about the only thing I'd be curious about was whether or not he had a nickname.

yer more than welcome for the link. i can't remember how i came across it, but i tucked it away knowing it'd be good to go back to from time to time.
i once read a short story with a similar theme of talent being used by others... it was kind of a supernatural theme, as the character with the talent could fix anything and bring it back to "life"... in the end, everyone has abused him and his gift to the point of where he is "useless"... it kind of a cynical story.

So let's try this again....
I'm going to be 30 in less than a month. How am I supposed to think and feel?
Truth be known, I feel old, but only here, as some of you were single digits (!) when I was going to raves and sneaking into Christian Death concerts.

Last night, I think I believed in God for about and hour and a half. I'm at least 5 different kinds of inspired musically, and it's all thanks to Muse. A voice so heavenly and divine, Matthew Bellamy's haunting vocals were dazzling and utterly ethereal. Go on, if you don't believe me, ask trilobyte.

Not in that crazy emotional way, but still wow.
The last crazy emotional gig I went to was a tribute gig for my friend who was murdered, it was on her birthday, to raise money for her headstone 2 and a half years after she died.
Probably not quite what you mean though.

Thanks for the comment. This particular boy would never pick out my clothes for me and all that stuff. That's what the last one did. This one actually likes ME. But I'm playing much harder to get these days. Vulnerability sucks my ass, and I'm never letting anything like what happened last time happen to me ever again.
