*I am typing this one-handed, as I am breakdancing while writing, in order to try and entertain Superflea. while juggling fire* smile

*footwork,back glide. ouch! hot! hot!*

I have decided that I am a three cream person, coffee-wise. At first, I couoldn't get over the feeling that this was somehow 'wrong', that I was being greedy, and that somewhere, somehow, the less fortunate were being made...

lol - well, i even have too much fun listening to sunset strip hair metal to have a hate on for what traditionally gets called "LA Rock".

i mean, Poison was just The Cure for happy, popular kids. biggrin

I have taken the "Leadership at TLR" and "So, you're a hiring manager at TLR" courses from Thomson University puke puke puke puke puke (I like my job, but, c'mon...I supervise 3 very nice old ladies who do data entry for our department!)

If you ever leave the DOC again, please ease yourself into America by visiting Minnesota...we have basically the same accent (while we don't say "aboot", we do amusingly elongate our a's, e's, and schwa's), we're reserved, clean, and essentially the most socialist state in the Union.

I am so old. I was talking with some people in another dept. at work today, and that 'little black backpack' song came up. I was the only one who knew it and everyone else thought that it was 'before their time, man.' And at first I thought it was just them, but then I realized that the first cassette I ever bought (the first...

My new computer has arrived! When I put in my old hard-drive and CD-burner, it will be the coolest ever (actually, it will be the coolest c. 2001, I am usually a little behind the times). My old computer will be relegated to the computer graveyard in one corner of our apartment, a silicon primordial ooze from which will one day spring forth - mechanized...

Feel not bad about your computer being behind the times. My roommate & I bought 4 computers off of the city surplus, so we are state-of-the-art 1999, baby! ($US 200 for 4 complete computers!) (and, it is cool that this computer I'm on right now belonged to the fire department dispatch, and they didn't erase everything. Nice knowing the ailments and pyromanic tendencies of the neighborhood!).

Hehe - my once mighty 933mhz is now an embarrassment. I'm stuck playing Unreal Tournament at the office because my home system won't hack it anymore. The shame!

Especially since the gf just got a new top of the line system, and all she runs on it are text adventures and NES emulations. The travesty of it all!

Have you considered opening with shock or awe?

Y'know - that way it just leaves you some options if things progress. If you fire with both barrels, then you'll be all "now what?" and it will suck.

I'm just sayin'.

Darn I am boring. Nothing new to report.

Have any pets? Invent a secret life for them. My cat is a crime fighter. He always has good stories to tell.

My roommates have disappeared again. they do this every once in a while. They just kind of vanish for a few days - usually weekdays when you'd think they'd be working/have school. Are they costumed crime fighters, secretly patrolling the night-time city to keep ordinary citizens like me safe? that'd be cool. but why won't they let me join? I should be grateful that this...

I called the sheriff's office this morning to find out. Apparently, it is county policy to sound the sirens when a severe thunderstorm has sustained winds over 60 mph. Trouble is, the storms that moved through were over 15 miles away...it barely even rained where I live. So, the sirens caught me a little off guard.

More bad weather in store for tonight! I do like severe weather, actually.

I'm a Lasalle boy, actually.

You gonna tell me why you happen to know your Nickel City high schools now, or are you gonna make me wait until the Pixies show? biggrin

Glad to read you'll be there. Looks like there'll be a small but mighty SG crew representing. We should get our own section, and Frank should sing every song only to us!!!

I admit I don't care until the playoffs. I don't even learn the players' names until the snow is gone. But it is every Torontonians god given right to watch the hometeam beat the Sens to a pulp every spring. Go leafs.

ah - it's alllll about the cold calls.

well, probably better than doing lawyer stuff if your heart wasn't in it.

so, then, to the more interesting question: what would you be doing professionally if you could do anything you wanted?
_sarah_:
You'll be happy to know I root for Canadian teams when Detroit is out of the playoffs. wink

I ♥ hockey.

I am "working" from "home" today. Not that anything that I do for that place much resembles 'work' (note: in the unlikely event that you are my boss, please stop reading this). Got to wake up one minute before work starts, grabbed my files and sat up in bed, and was a productive member of society without even really getting up! I seem to actually...

Saw David Bowie show two nights ago at ACC. I think the last show he did here (with Moby) was a little better, but he was still incredible. A thought - when he was young, he was the crazy, otherworldly Ziggy Stardust and the aloof, cold-as-ice thin white duke. Now he's almost a senior citizen, he's jumping around like a madman, telling silly jokes, obviously...

It's all about the Bowie shows.

Did you see him at Area:2?

superflea:
Can you imagine how daunting it must be for him to put together a set list? The guy's been putting out records since... what... the sixties? And it's not as though he's had a lot of weak periods. There are tracks from every single period and every single album that are likely considered essential Bowie. How do you pick a two hour set out of that and still plug the new album? It's insane.
