yeah, I went to an orthopedic specialist that excitedly referred to my ankle as a logisticl nightmare and that I was textbook good- as in my ankle is so fucked, I could be in one! Anyhow, I wear New Balance 900 or higher everyday with orthodics specially made for me...hence no fun shoes for kitty anymore

Wow, you spent your summers in Ashland? Lucky girl. I lived there for a few years while going to college and loved it. My job I just lost a few weeks ago was there too, so I had to commute there (if you can call it that since it's only like 20 minutes) every day for 2 years.
I can't afford to live in Ashland anymore though. Did you know they have had to close several of the elementary schools there because there aren't enough young families anymore? (They can't afford it either).

Oops, hit a nerve. Sorry, I didnt mean it to sound like an attack on you, it wasnt meant to be, I've just experienced too many people who cling to Irishness in the past. A bloke who used to work with me said he was Irish cos he had been to Ireland 3 times, but he went to Spain more so I asked him why he wasnt Spanish?! A next door neighbour of my ex-girlfriend was born in London and lived here all the time but magically came back with this huge accent everytime she came back from visiting her grandparents..I'm sure these people play upto it as Ireland has a good reputation whilst somewhere like Wales (equally nice) might as well not exist in some people's eyes.
I do know that St Patrick's Day is more of an event in the US than in Britain. Irishness is almost like a brand over here sometimes and I know it pisses off some of the Irish people I know.
And no, Im not racist against Irish, my grandma was born there, I have friends born there but I dont feel Irish at all. In fact I dont really feel English..Im a Londoner.
