I got locked outta my car at dinner break from work.

It wasn't a big deal at all; the restaurant was very close to where I work, I called there and got someone to pick me up, and my dad brought by another key this evening.
The funny part was the two employees of the restaurant trying to help me break into my own car....

I'm not sure the kitten necessarily had the best intentions.....

My bird is on my stairs. I took him out to the courtyard to play, but he kept coming into the house. He's trying to teach himself to fly. It's really amazing actually.

You've got a friend in Cheech!

Thanks for those Nipsey Russell lyrics. Very fun stuff. I don't know how to explain it but I'd say your lyrics were DANCING lyrics. They just make me wanna dance and act like a fucking fool.

2nd care package arrived today. Thanks again. Now I have to prepare one for you.

(preface - I've found my SG Friends very rewarding to read up on this weekend. Thanks for all the Comments and Journals from all I've seen since Friday; great stuff.)

For Memorial Day - a story of Polish ingenuity versus Nazi occupation

Countering the notion of dumb Polish people is the most clever deception this side of Oskar Schindler; it was masterminded by two doctors...

Yeah, Sabbath is pretty timeless metal. Priest to a lesser extent. I think there's something about the glammier side of it that just makes me nostalgic for my kiddie days.

I heard this one classic metal song on the radio about a month ago, and I've been trying DESPERATELY to find the song. It's called something like "All I Wanted was a Soda" or "I Just Wanted a Soda" or something to that effect. It's a song about a kid who holes himself up in his room and listens to music, and when he does finally come downstairs to get a drink, his parents accuse him of being antisocial, doing drugs, and God knows what. It was pretty great - ever heard of it? Do you know who it's by?

wow you find out all kinds of interesting tid bits on sg. love to hear when a little ingenuity overcomes tyranny.

might get a chance to meet you in the flesh at the sgva bowlarama thing!

Random Music Opinions (not record reviews, don't worry)

I think I've been giving Beck a bad deal. I'd kinda given up paying attention to him, since Midnite Vultures was a pretty bad Prince album and there wasn't much I liked on Mutations.

But the fact that he'd even attempt a Prince album is pretty impressive... and the good songs on Mutations were really good....

Oh, I bought that Interpol album for the exact same, not-entirely-good-enough reason: decent press. But, I think it's a pretty fine album, so that was pretty fortunate. In particular, Obstacle 1 has the greatest bass of any song for a long time, but there's a lot of good things on there.
drunkpunk:
Mmmmmmm, a very big shovel, eh? Have you tried having a look on ebay? .
Thankfully, my SG buddies aren't spread out all over the world as much as yours dude, so i guess you've got it worse than me.

And the entire population of Hackney can go and suck my stump .

THE RUMORS ARE TRUE

I just wanted to assure everyone that the rumors you've heard about casting for the upcoming Dukes of Hazzard movie are true.

I am playing Luke Duke.

WhiskeyFightPit is Bo Duke.

clovesbud plays Uncle Jesse, a role vacated by Franchise stemming from schedule conflicts with the shooting of Gladiator 2: Mediterranean Boogaloo

Clara is cousin Daisy (the producers were impressed by...

re: my last Journal-- I had a headache and was kinda mad about some minor stuff... so I didn't really feel like writing much.

But I dunno, maybe secret-code-looking Journals thrill some people.

I've had a kinda busy/boring week. Actually have had some things from books I thought of typing up in here, but 500-word Journals seemed a bit much to type in the 90+...

beer and mocha? i never drink these at the same time. beer was finished much ealier in the evening. cafe mocha was a late night dessert wink besides i am a caffiene addict from helll so i can drink it anytime w/o any real side effects.

i am actually more partial to sierra nevada pale ale (which i indulged in before dinner) but the bass was on sale and i am not so much of a snob!wink

btw i didn't think ales were good for shandys anyways (usually lagers are better) so i can only imagine how bad the bass shandy was! puke

Hmm don't think I know or remember any, at least nothing's coming to mind beyond Guns'n'Roses Sweet Child O' Mine.

Reading your comments about movies, I really think you'd like my friend cutriver's journal. He's beyond film buff and highly articulate.

Hugs to you! kiss robot

I shouldn't be here typing; I should be mailing stuff to people.

evening ps-- I mailed the stuff. I wish I'd had time to really make them care packages. As it is, they're more like... packages with a couple of things. Anyway, I hope Lemonkid BrookeLynne and WhiskeyFightPit like them.

I can't get Quiet Riot's "Metal Health" out of my head.

And I didn't even play it or anything!

I'm glad you have Quiet Riot in your head to balance out James Taylor wink . What is this 'lighter rock' you speak of? confused

I rented Big Fish, need to watch it. Have you seen it? My indie video place is making a fortune off of me lately, especially w/ the damn late fees.

Have a good 'Hump Day' as they say in the office.

I got a look at how my multi-generation video dubs for coldenginelogic, BrookeLynne, and JuneCleavage when I got up this morning, after leaving WhiskeyFightPit's copy in to tape last night.

To paraphrase Sandra Bernhard, "It ain't.... too.... damn... good." So I guess I'll have to find time to individually make tapes for folks.
This won't be hard, as far as the...

I don't know how I feel about Sandra Bernhardt except to say that I find her facinating. How was your weekend?
leanasidhe:
you know, that could be the case. i'm definitely more attracted to guys who are more sensitive and free expressing these days. that doesn't mean they have to be sissies or anything, it just means that i like it when they can be affectionate w.out worrying about crossing a line. *shrug* i have no idea. it just seems that every time i get a crush on a guy, he turns out to be gay. lol

Good, now do me a favour and kill Ronnie James Dio next mad
whiskeyfightpit:
Neon Knights is a pretty tough Sabbath/Dio track. There is alot to choose from. I can't front....I like Dio in a non-ironic way. Fuck all of these kids who look like the dudes in Thursday and play some K-Tel version of hardcore and cover HOLY DIVER with a little smirk in their eyes while they thrash away for little teenage tarts and their Urban Outfitters Lives. Who made you fucking brats the taste testers of the music world? You gotta earn the right to rag on music. Most of those cats don't exist outside of bands on Equal Vision, Vagrant, Drive-Thru, Trustkill, or Victory Records. Maybe a few bands off of Relapse and maybe some Bright Eyes for when they need some fresh quim. FUCK YOU!!! BRING IT ON!!!!
