Naturalism is a digression in the worlds arta potentially dead-end branch in an art tree otherwise filled with icons and symbols. From cave painting to the great Mayan sculptors, we humans want to translate our world into pictographs in order to communicate visually.

Where is this communication currently the most complex and sophisticatedand I mean sophisticated in a way that is understood by the receiver?...

sophie:
nyyyyyah!

whaddup?!

how's sf?

hey, somehow, randomly, i thought you lived in LA. uh. am i smoking? crackity crack??

thanks for the badass comments in my journal lately. dude, the tjwillis00 guy... how rad was that experience?! only in freakin kansas.

so. if you're really in san francisco, can you think of a good place or two for me to shoot my next photset while i'm in the area? i kinda want to see if i can rent a dominatrix's space for like an hour or two, but that might get pricey, and they're a tad hard to find. for good reason.

my photog wants to just get a room at a hotel, but eeek. i am not really into that for some reason. i want a space with a little more character. something less generic, and honestly, i feel like i have seen too many hotel rooms on this site. heh.

hit me back lovely!

Everywhere I go
People yada dada daaa...

OK, so I don't know the words to any gigolo songs.

And don't get me started on quantum stuff, or I'll write a 2500 word comment in no time flat. Let's just say quantum computing is one of the main reasons I'm in math.

awesome... your a legend! you wanna tell me how you did it so i know for next time? or is it a bit complicated? cheers M

The Cold Hard Truth about the Human Condition:
http://www.apa.org/journals/psp/psp7761121.html

Good to know that Science is on it.

Doesn't this explain a lot about a lot of folks (*coughbutnotmerightcough*)? Apparently, one of the hallmarks of ineptitude is the inablility to realize that you are inept. The same cognitive skills that make a person good at something are the same ones they need to recognize that they...

Somewhere within, my old women wail.
Black veils hung coquettishly
below blurred malachite.
Sing!
My grandmothers sing
into the face of
whichever God led them to this;
Your icons within me now,
forged whole from whatever I take in.

You have left only your specters,
pale visions that reflect you poorly
or not at all.

man, i've looked at zen, and buddhism and all kinds of stuff.

my troulbe is i'm not ready to let go of the hate in my veins, my anger is my primary motivation. i look at the wolrd in a skewed and damaged sense, primarly as though its a battle that i have to fight, that i have to win. its sick. but i am sick.

but sometimes that leaves a lot of empty spaces.

did you write that? It sounds familiar somehow, but I couldn't place it. if you did write it.... awesome

but you should know that i'm the ghost with the most

or the specter with the vector.

So I've decided to go ahead and get an early start on the holiday depression. Last year, I waited until the last minute to get depressed, and it was such a hectic mess! I swore that I'd do myself the favor of getting started early this year, do it right and take my time, and by God that's what I intend to do.

Stage 5: It's not quite finished, but it's close. Now I'll probably spend a long time looking at it, and looking at it, and looking at it, and it'll tell me what it needs. Call this 80% done.

You can check the likeness if you like-- I scanned some photos and uploaded them to the pics gallery. Mostly me and little kids, b/c it seems...

For stage 3, it was time to throw anything and everything into the mix; the underdrawing is in place, it's been built up enough to be sure that it looks like the subject, now I can get stupid. This stage is actually the briefest-- there are no descisions to make, here I am just following impulse. "This looks good, fuck it, throw that crap in...

you're gonna give me bad dreams with that last one...

or maybe the bad dreams come with the whisky and listening to a song called "mainlining murder" over and over and over again.

i miss having that kind of time. that sort of aimlessness of youth. but god, i couldn't go through that shit again. the scars haven't even faded yet, and i'm sure there's still one or two arrest warrents out for a john doe matching my description.

its just heavy. i'm going to be twenty four, right, and all day long i just keep thinking about calling out of work to wonder around the city with my friends, beer in a bag and maybe on some speed or painpills. that sort of nhilistic self-destructive streak should fade at some point shouldn' t it?

one would think.

we gotta think of something great for you to do for the site.

ideas coalesce. you're a damn talented man, you know that yes?

i miss the days of being unemployable but somehow having money for drugs and booze and just wandering around the city all day. i'm watching trainspotting, its reminding me of those days.

glad you're enjoying blood meridian, its actually inspiring me to write a trilogy of short stories. i want to create a new genre= the chemical western.

we might have something up by the end of the week, but i'll holler at you via email anyway.

our AD has yet to have his email address up yet.

but we're interested in hearing suggestions for monthly art features from people.

what could be done monthly that constitutes visual art, suggestions?
sophie:

yeah, so neckface IS shepard crushed, i believe (obey). i get a little weary of him, but he's respectful at least, he doesn't go over other people's shit. gotta hand it to him, he gets up in some amazing spots.

bigupradio is also great. you ever go to bamboo hut in N. beach?
sturanium_235:
word up, man. just by chance, do you live with a roomate who has a boa constrictor? i think i might have been at yiur house recently.......

Bad news. frown

I'm afraid that my application to join the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy was rejected. They said they are really looking for someone with more experience in infiltration/asset management. I guess nobody is really running old-school black ops anymore, and it's all about public relations and media management nowadays.

They offered me a job monitoring SIGINT, but I rejected it-- it's totally trained-monkey push-button...
