i just want you all to know, in the interest of keeping the trust, that i did leave that last entry on almost until the exact minute it became inapplicable.
there is no stupid questions. thats why they are questions cause you dont know the answer darlin.
anyways. there is not a certificate or school. we do it like the old black smith days when you had to have a apprenticship. which is hard to find. i would suggest getting in good with some local fine artists & talk to them a lot. make friends. hang out at the shop. work on your art all the time. then ask. its still pretty hard to get one. but if its something that you or anyone else wants to do badly enough you have to want it forever & will stop at nothing to get it. it took me somewhere around 5 years to find someone to teach me. i told a few of them "hey, if you cant do it. its cool. cause wether you do it or not. im going to be a tattoo artist."
good luck darlin.
love maggie
Phrasing a flu epidemic in terms of an Old Testament plague? A bit nutty, but not crazy.
Now if you splash the still-warm blood of a freshly slaughtered barnyard critter on your door, we might be talking crazy.
Alas, there is already a lady of my Dorkdom, and she, with her astigmatism and many, many allergies, is truly the fairest in all the land. Thus, I see no alternative to our dispute but a pitifully awkward three-way in which someone gets a rash, everyone winds up sneezing, and no one can remember which Lord of the Rings character they were supposed to be.
(Warning: this response will derail this journal from the very entertaining "internet donkey punch" discussion. Please skip ahead to when the funny resumes)
Ooof...sorry to hear about the whole hero to zero dampening of your entertainment options. How long is the staying with the parents supposed to last?
And I feel compelled to encourage you to at least skimming some self-help books...and not just because it's a nice visual to contemplate on my end, no sir. Nope. Just trying to help make you a happy pony.
"i could give you some excellent spooky voodoo madame Sosostris rationalizational reasons, but maybe i should respect your connubial bliss-to-be?"
How can I resist spooky voodoo rationalization?
And the Brooklyn DMV was on some level a disappointment, since I was all geared up for hours and hours of waiting, and the whole process took less than 45 minutes. It was harder to find the damn place than it was to actually get a state ID.
"is there an application and a screening, or does one just declare their intentions via ancient indian smoke signal? i mean, howza howza HELLOOO. heehee."
Since I assumed that said request would meet with nothing but awkward silence, I really didn't plan ahead to the application and screening stages.
Even if you're just motivated by boredom and pity, I'd be a moron to reject your indian smoke signals (what is the smoke signal for "howza howza" anyway?), so I wouldn't worry too much.
(and now we return to "Punch Donkey Internet", already in progress)
CUTE CUTE CUTE=you, my darling.
i wish we were in the new place now, cause staying with the boy's parents puts a cramp on fridge decorating. "Who's 'Siv,' dear?"
p.s. if you are looking at this on a Mac, i beg you to close your eyes to slits and thereby filter out about 50% of the shitty-shitty-bang-bang-ness of it. apparently PCs show things about nine billion times darker, and that be the machine i used to make it.
*cries*
my spooky picture has become a grey blecchh.
let's all channel ray charles!
wow! you create some really beautiful art. i absolutely love your stuff. you're selling it, right? because you should. i'd buy it if i weren't fucking broke right at the moment. maybe later this year i'll have the funds for pretty pictures.
I never thought I'd read "Locke", "tabula rasa" and "shameful nakedness" in the same series of paragraphs, but that's what makes you special.
Indeed, you're the reason I feel compelled to put "pseudo" before my intellectual, since while I think I can keep up with you in the obscure references department, you have the major advantage of actually knowing what they really mean.
(file compliment under "gawrsh, yer smart")
I do find snort-laughing to be endearing.
Yes, really.
Oh, and you should take another gander at my pics to answer your "where is that SB set" question...the answer is that nobody in their right mind wants to see me naked. Don't make me prove me right.
And now I sorta know what a sestina is. Now I can pass off my wanton perversion as someting educational...grad school here I come!
But thanks for the compliments...you're welcome to stop by if you're in the NY area, I'm sure I could talk my girlfriend into doing something other than nose chewing if given enough advance notice.
have been removed, for all my bragadoccio. i think it was "nice teat." heh.
i feel like maybe i already posted these. i am senile and doddering before my time.
i think someday i need to examine the strange sense of ease with which i post naked pitchers. it coincides with a weird kind of pissiness that i don't know anyone... Read More
paradoxical, aint it? the intimacy of your/our photos/word word words is mediated by the internet which acts as a buffer. real people are kept at arms length.
sometimes its hard to make the leap from images/words to true friends as the web is the only social interaction.
but, i find that weirdsville only lasts until both internet personas meet (in person) and realize that they are real-live actual people. i mean we know youre a real person, but sometimes we dont know it.
nudity is nudity, whatever.
during the course of a former career i, at one point, dealt with a company run by a playboy centerfold. she and i conversed quite often and i went to visit her. sure, theres a weird second or two at first meeting, but after that, everything was cool and we moved past it. i mean we had things in common and had stuff to talk about. i think that's a similar situation here.
mayhap us locals should have a Get To Know Siv in Real Life party. would that make you feel betta? i know it would make me feel better!
(apparently you did too)

Lo, for tribute candid photo of auspicious event could only return trust tenfold!
..yeah, whatever, it's 4:44 in the morning. I'm going to bed.
