Today I saw this very old lady at the grocery store. She had a little scarf thing on to cover her head but you could tell she was having Chemo. She was looking at these hideous purse bags they had for sale. I walked past her thinking how awful the bags were and she looked at me and smiled and then I realized she was...

According to this rather longwinded article you will live longer and not age as rapidly if you skip eating every other day. It also suggests drinking red wine also will stimulate production of anti aging enzymes in the body. Sounds like a good excuse to skip dinner and head for the bar. Coincidentally in a different study also in the news the same day it...

My Grandpa....who was a very smart man....used to say, " One shot of bourbon a day, will make you work a little harder, think a little smarter, love a little better and live a little longer!" I guess he might have been just a little ahead of his time... biggrin The key here, is his stipulation of only one shot a day.....everything in moderation...

Here are my thoughts on grumpiness. We are all entitled to it occasionally. I think it can be kind of a release, that lets us get things out of our system.....and it probably lets out more than just the thing we think we're grumpy about.

Hope you're having a good day and that you get to laugh and smile alot! smile

I just wanted to say that every post I read of yours (especially in current events) makes my respect for you grow exponentially (even if I didn't spell that correctly). I seem to agree with you on almost everything and you express yourself really really well.

So, you rock. Just thought you should know. kiss

Im irritated today. Nothing I want to get into really, kind of silly but someone from long ago really screwed me over and I never quite got the closure I felt I needed.
Not a boyfriend or dating person, this was completely different.

Odd how stuff like that can churn up and ruin your day for no reason. I hope the feeling decides to go...

I didnt get to go shooting this weekend because of the glorious rain, but I did take the Vehicross out and run through the large puddles spraying rooster tails of water up on the neighborhood kids who stand by the water and motion for motorists to do this. Its great, the kids love it and the mean streak in me loves it too. How often...

Right now, Im the oldest Ive ever been.
Thats not me trying to be witty. I know by most reasonable accounts Im not old. But, when I walk by the High School thats by my house, and compare myself to the 14 year olds I see. I feel old. I imagine when Im 30; Ill look back at 22 year olds and remember what it was like to be young. What Im trying to get at is that old age is a moving goal post situation.

I was out at the river with some friends a couple of weeks ago looking at scorpions (I said a was a nerd) at night with a black light. The little ones really glow. We had a flashlight too which attracted about 500 billion bugs to its beam, the cool thing was the insects attracted a ton of bats. It was amazing! There had to...

Then I reckon they ain't fit to teach school. If it's a public school I wager she's lacing her comments with warnings about witchcraft which definitely has no place in a government subsidied school what with the alleged separation of church and state. Shit man, this is going to remind me there are some things in life worth geting litigious over. That is one teacher I sure will avoid (not that I reckon she will teach up my block, and it might not be relevant till I get my some kids), but man, that just steams me.

Thanks for the sweet recognition of men on the boards!

I tend to clump myself into the category of positivity when it comes to the male breed... and always feel awesome when someone appreciates the fact that .. well...

As Depeche Mode may say..

"People are People"

Wonderful, beautiful, and vibrant people are held not to race, sex, sexual orientation, or ethnicity.

It's nice to see someone such as yourself make a wonderful statement.

It'll no doubt do you well in life.

Im pretty happy with this whole SG thing. I was a little apprehensive but so far it seems really cool. A nice place with people of a similar mindset. Not something you find every day. Even the people I disagree with are not total idiots. They have a different point of view, which is ok, that is what makes the world go round and keeps...

Hey, I can't fault you for voting Kerry. So long as you vote, you're in my good book. What maddens me is that so many people give me grief for voting my conscience, as if my vote is costing them their freedoms. Well, after roughly 200 years of Democrats participating in the process, and running the show half the time, I don't see anything but an increasing disaparity between rich and poor, eroding Constitution. . . shit. . .I've been drinking so I can't get my point across other than that we sure could use effective, genuine leadership "FOR THE PEOPLE" one of these days. If I have to take it by force, I suppose I will. Uh. . .kidding. . .no black helicopters please. . I was only kidding. . .

I had the worst headache last night. It was really awful so I ended up going to bed very early. I didnt do my homework, I got up around 3 AM and was going to work on it but then still felt really foggy and went back to bed. Woops. Thankfully there is no exam this week. So Ill just have to bust a little...

hillarywallace told me that i should check out your journal from yesterday. i agree with you completely. i collect certain firearms. by the way even if your AR had the flash supressor it wouldn't be an assualt rifle. in order for it to be an assualt rifle by the BATF, the trigger pack and sear would have to be: Safe, Semi-Automatic, and 3-Round Burst. besides as of yesterday your flash supressor is now completely legal wink

PS i love the pic of you with your HK USP. i collect HK's, and have far too many of them. wink

I have participated in a lot of the gun topics posted on the boards. It always saddens me when I hear people equate guns to crime. Guns can be used in crime, and they can kill people, but so can cars or rocks or any number of other items. I get sad when people forget how many honest citizens own guns and never harm anyone....

I was seriously disgusted with myself for letting myself get into my current state of less than great shape. It truly was a combination of things that led up to it, but I've leaned on those excuses just a little to long now.

Ahhh yes, the Az heat! I've been there in the summer and know a little of what you speak of. Luckily, my time there was brief and I never had to suffer through a whole season of the intolerable stuff. I guess the trade off is that you don't have the intense mind numbing cold that we can go through here in Iowa in the winter...

Armor all.......a great product for some things, but never to be used on the interior of a car ....it always leaves a greasey residue behind that tends to attract more dust and dirt than it cleans off!

Thanks for replying back.....hopefully we'll "talk" more in the future!

The state of things in this country has me very disturbed.

The complacency with which people are just accepting this crap is even more disturbing.

I am concerned about so many steps in the wrong direction which are being made, and the blatant disregard for the constitution being shown by the current administration.

I guess it is easy to turn a blind eye when it...
