I was explaining that second grade is a good time to learn about how people act because very few folks ever "change" and she'll be dealing with the equivelant of second grade politics for the rest of her life...

Thanks. Chins have been scratched on your behalf. I try to set an example. The first two kittens that I adopted (siblings) several years ago as well as a stray I wanted to find a home for a couple of years ago had feline leukemia, so I know how important it is to get everyone tested and keep their shots up-to-date. I put a pic of Otis in my profile. He's really a sweet cat.
