Bass/drums player here (my wife is a guitar player). Music is also a very important part of our lives, but we've never been on bands or anything, I understand you about the "lone player" thing. I've been so emotional since hearing about this yesterday. I grew up watching this man over and over in one movie or another. Even in his most dramatic roles he's always made me smile. He's not an actor to me, he's just a man who has made me laugh in the darkest times of my life and this is one of the few celeb deaths that I've reacted to this way. The only other celeb I've felt so broken and distraught over is George Carlin, and it was nothing like this.
