I don't normally mourn the death of a celebrity, but a moment of silence for Philip Seymour Hoffman. He really was a master of his craft. There aren't that many great actors out there. Most of what Hollywood shows us are pretty people and fluff.

And as a former drug addict, I am sadder still to see him lost to drugs. I know the pain...

I don't know @almost_missed. I read it in The New York Times. I tend to trust what I read there.

I didn't recognize his name at first but after seeing him, wow that guy has been in a lot of movies. I'm sorry that this has triggered so many negative feelings for you love. My heart goes out to you as well as his family. May he rest in peace.

I'm baby sitting five tiny puppies at the moment until their new foster mom, my neighbor, comes home.

In retrospect, I should have bathed them after I fed them. Now they're all sleeping in a cozy little puppy pile.

I took myself out for dinner this past Thursday to help stave off the ennui that had been creeping in. Going out to dinner by yourself

I think that's the empowering part of going out alone, @absolutelyzero. It means that I don't care enough about what others think to inhibit me from doing what I would like.

@iggy I always think where did I go wrong. I think it was when I was very young and it has cursed me ever since. This city hasn't done much for me so it's almost time to pack up and leave in search of a better life

Does that shirt look familiar? It should. It's the one I wore in my first set. I've had that shirt forever. My friend gave it to me right before I went away to college when I was 18. It had been his when he was a kid. There's something so awesome about wearing old pieces of clothing. Never mind that it's on the verge of

@daxtron, no, it's not wrong you counted the 'na's in my title. Also, how bad was this message you got? I need some input from dudes.

Thanks @legman and @louie48!

On days like today, when not much is going on, I like to take my time with everything. I stay in bed wrapped in my blankets snuggling my cat and going through the news on my phone. When I do get out of bed, I make tea using the old fashioned kettle and enjoy every sip I take. After my run, I take a shower

So I signed up for this dating app on my phone. It's a whole lot of nope. Though it is somewhat humorous. Honestly, I think I would meet people I have more in common with if I didn't live in this area of the country. It has it's own sort of charm, but it's still a bit of a cultural wasteland. I feel like if

I don't know if I would ever go to NOLA during Mardi Gras, @yuriel. I don't even go out on New Years or St. Patricks Day. I don't know if I could handle Mardi Gras. Lol.

I can't even handle normal clubs or whatever being a homebody/nerdier type but also really feel like I could use some fun.  No idea how to fix that! Or my crazy sleep schedule. LOLS.

So, I know that I had previously been absent for a few years due to some personal business, but I see a lot of people complaining about the new set up of the site. They say it's harder to navigate and that it seems stripped down. Well, I've been an SG since 2004. I've seen the site go through many changes in order to stay...

I'm wearing a shirt that's older than I am. My mom got it when she saw the Rolling Stones back in '81. She said they were terrible and that she doesn't understand why people would pay so much to see them now. She gave that shirt to me ten years ago. I LOVE that I still fit in clothes from ten or more years ago....

Don't get me wrong @legman, I love the Rolling Stones, I just wouldn't pay to see them in concert. Maybe if I could get a time machine I would go back to the sixties or seventies and see them, but I definitely would not see them now. And I get clothes to last a long time because I take super good care of them. I only wash in cold water and use the low setting on the dryer. My vintage stuff I always hand wash and air dry. It also helps that I only wear my vintage stuff for special occasions, such as hot dates with fetching capitalist lads!
legman:
I'd like to see them sometime- but they're so EXPENSIVE!  And they don't tour often now, either.    "a time machine "  I'd want to see early BLACK SABBATH most of all! :D

Happy Caturday, you fine people. In the long held tradition that is 'Caturday', have some pictures of cats.

The one question I constantly ask myself is, "Why can't the people who I want to be obsessed with me indeed be obsessed with me?" It seems someone I was in a band with over a decade ago has crept back into my life with proclamations of

This is my new foster dog, Cinnamon. Isn't she the cutest? She's just such a love. I feel like she has the head of a German Shepherd, the legs and body of a basset hound, and the color and tail of a corgi. She had a litter of five adorable little puppies and they were just weaned and at a different foster.

And that's a

There are a lot of pictures saved here that aren't saved to my hard drive. When I had departed from the site in 2009 I had a different computer that I lost in a bad break up. Coming back here was like opening a photo-tastic time capsule. I saw pictures that I forgot had been taken of me. Some are good. Some are bad. It's...

finally made it to New Jersey with 18 rescue dogs in tow. Drove through the night and was making record time until the weather turned to complete shit as soon as I crossed the bridge from Delaware.

Let's just say that it took me an hour and a half to go four miles in Lakewood.

And now I will finally rest before I have to...

O cripes, it must have been that freakish day when all the streets turned to ice. I was already at my job up in Eatontown and my team told me that on their way in they saw all kinds of accidents. O man what a brutal day to be stuck in traffic.  That area where Brick intersects with 70 gets more and more dense with traffic all the time...I moved from Brick to Jackson about 10 years ago. Traffic is not so bad over here on the other side of Lakewood in Jackson. :)

Yes, it was the morning everything turned into an ice skating rink for a hot minute before turning over to rain, @cobalt. Next month, I am thoroughly checking the weather report before I depart for New Jersey.
