So I signed up for this dating app on my phone. It's a whole lot of nope. Though it is somewhat humorous. Honestly, I think I would meet people I have more in common with if I didn't live in this area of the country. It has it's own sort of charm, but it's still a bit of a cultural wasteland. I feel like if I was in Asheville or even Greensboro things would be better, that I would actually be able to go out and meet people that I can possibly connect with on a certain level. But alas, I am not. Don't get me wrong, I like Charlotte. It's a fun and rather under rated little city. It's really quite quaint. I just wish there were more people like me here. Instead, it seems to be rednecks and corn fed country boys and girls as far as the eye can see. If I see another dating profile that begins with, "I'm just a laid back guy/gal..." I'm going to scream. Also, the poor grammar and abysmal spelling that abounds in the vast majority of dating profiles (and the internet in general) drives me up the fucking wall. It's like no one even tries anymore. The quickest way for me to say 'no' to someone is through piss poor grammar and paragraphs composed entirely of internet short hand.
At least I have the fetching capitalist lad, though I'm pretty sure this is going to be a text book case of "He's just not that into me". That is, of course, unless we're talking about sex, in which case he's TOTALLY into me. I'm okay with it. He's smart, interesting, offers good conversation, hot, and is fucking killer in the sack. I'll go with it.
On a completely unrelated note, the auto correct on my phone now recognizes the word 'daleks'. I'm counting that as a minor win.
