I just saw your comment on my "Bring 'em Home" set and wanted to thank you.  Even though that set was shot in 2008, it's still near and dear to my heart.  My husband, who I met here on SG, used to be in the Army. In fact, just weeks after me moving across the country, knowing no one, and getting married to someone I had a long-distance relationship with for over a year, he got deployed for 15 months.  They sent him on his "mid-tour" leave at only 4 months in, so we celebrated our 6 month wedding anniversary (since he wouldn't be there for our 1 year) at the place we got married at, which gave people puzzled looks when we were like, "We got married here 6 months ago, so we're celebrating now..." and had to go through the whole story.  Which meant after his leave, I didn't see him for 11 months.  When I shot this set, he was deployed, and I tried to add a prop or a bit of something from every branch of the military, especially because at the time we were sending care packages to deployed soldiers all over the world.  My set went up the day before we had a weekend-long fundraising event in Ohio so we could create a calendar and have a party to raise money for us to send more and bigger packages. I flew out to Ohio and met one of my best friends there so we shared a room, and my husband felt I was protected by our mutual friend (one of the only people who came to our wedding from the East Coast when most of my family didn't even come), anyway, we had a lot of fun, I met a ton of girls.  Some who have since moved on from the site, but I still keep in touch with.  So really, thank you so much for commenting on that particular set.  I figured I'd share the story behind it, since very few on the site know it. 😀

@sid it is just so odd I saw this post only today. But it is never too late to answer, as we spoke about set which comes out almost 10 years ago! That "behind the scene" story just make me feel warm and smile, I am just so happy and grateful you are been through that long separation. Army theme always been close to me, my parents both are military and my bf is a lot into that too (never serve thought) No matter what country, military service is important everywhere and people who do it... oh, they just woththe best. You made really great set with great theme... sometimes I really miss old themed SG sets! and it is really so cool you meet your husband here, on the site. I bet it all means a lot for both of us.
