Heroin City / Heroinville / etc. is what most people refer to Plano as (thanks to all the kids that OD'd on heroin here). There is a Hebbronville, TX, but that's down near the coast. Amarillo I think is way up in the panhandle, but I've never been there. I hear it's all desert and nothingness.
But you should totally come out to the Plano/Dallas area. It's a boring city for the most part, but there are some really good areas for art / modeling / theater / fashion / photography, etc. And besides, there's a Starbucks on every corner.
