I'm about 100 miles west of boston. New haven isn't all that much farther, it's maybe 2-2.5 hours out of boston if you head down 95 on a light traffic period. Not too bad a drive actually, you get to drive over a bridge over the USS Massachusetts anchored at Fall river. I know you goths are all into old battleships.

Hope yours was a wonderful one!

Christian Propaganda at my doorstep...I advertised my holiday CD, Protea, The Osiris Tree, in the lobby of my apt. building and as I left today I stumbled over a Chinese take-out box full of candy (yes, I ate it despite the poisoning risk, I was hungry) - a tiding of the season that no one else in the building had to endure, a jolly accessory...

Ohhh boy don't you just love institutionalized religions? Polytheism,Monotheism,ect..When will people realize that connecting to a higher power is not about following a very strict set of rules, especially when those rules only divide humanity even more than any other thing (SIGH) My father is devoutly Christian and I attended a private Christian school as a child (Ironically in the worst way this was when the sexual abuse I went thru started--I had barely turned 5) Anyways I'm pagan to the core (so are my brother and sis) and my father actually told us we were going to hell--Suffice it to say some things never change and whoever left that pamphlet at your door only proved the hypocrisy of their own beliefs--And that is it is not their place to make judgements on others-Well to move on I hope that candy was good heh--It's not every day you find something you can eat outside your very door--Hope you had a good winter solstice--My brother and sister-in-law married on this day and to celebrate their 1st anniversary we all went to Joshu Tree's National Park--Beautiful to say the least--(Reminded me of home) and then they left to do their own kind of celebrating biggrin But I've taken up to much space here because I could keep going on and on- Your very easy to og---I mean talk to ha! wink

Joy!
Martin from Attrition asked me to submit a song for his cover album project.
He's having different musicians record interpretations of his band's songs and will be selecting the ones he likes for an upcoming CD.
This is unusual in that an artist or band doesn't normally cast for cover versions of their own material - it is not only unorthodox, but egoless -...

The good ole' 80's... I've loved them since I was 17! I've always been a bit of a sucker for what they do.

Big premiere tomorrow night huh? I think I watched a short film of yours a long time ago. I have friend that's in film school and I did the make-up for one of his projects and was in a couple of them as well. The aforementioned one was so violent we had to make tons of blood! It was a lot of fun, but I'm not sure about the end result. I'll send you a link if you want a good laugh sometime. wink

I'm going to try to get in to town around 5 or 6. I'm supposed to meet a friend for food and drinks at Farmer Brown's off Market. Then, the show and after that bars or a club, who knows. So, if your schedule allows we can make the transaction before or after (ha, sounds like were talking about a drug deal) , i'll be in the city all night. I know my way around fairly well so if you want to meet up you can call or text me. I'll send you my cell #.

Good luck with your film... talk to you later!

A few things have happened since my last post, including that enigmatic American holiday known as Thanksgiving. Although I do find it important to be mindful of gratitude, and while I did go to my friends' house to shove food in my face, the holiday bugs me in that it unfairly portrays the dynamic between the oppressors/invaders and the natives, glorifying some feast that may...

Hey swetie I am very sorry to hear about your friend--My brother just got out of the hospital earlier today--He was there for three weeks and they really screwed him up to the point that he left without even signing the discharge papers--And I understand the drama and how you claim it as your own when it involves someone you love :HUGS: I found out a week ago that I have Rheumatoid Arthritis (my family and Auto-Immune diseases blackeyed ) and my doctor wants to put me on a massive amount of Prednisone (steroid) to treat it and I told him NO--He was mightily pissed but I have seen what it has done to my brother and I won't go there--I can't believe they forced chemo on a patient who was in remission--That is so ass backwards it baffles every ounce of logic and commen sense in my body--The way America practices medicine (especially on those with cancer) is to nuke it even when many other options are available to them--Anyways I could go on and on but I won't--So what is the title of your first book?--I've been wanting to read it but wasn't sure how to procure it--And as to Thanksgiving I agree--Being half Indian myself has instilled a certain disdain for it especially considering that these days it is only a retailers dream as the start up for Christmas--Well I'm off to "bed"--My families living arrangements right now is quite a downer but I won't comment on it here--You take good care of yourself luv and I send every good thought and love to your friend kiss .

So I went to 6 Halloween events - 4 on Halloween, including the Good Vibrations party, Martuni's, the Cat Club and DNA, and Death Guild and Spellbound (my ex-band mate's Siouxsie tribute band) on Monday and Tuesday, respectively. Each night I was some variation of Medusa, wearing a one-of-a-kind knit snake nest hat and matching neck piece that a designer/artist friend had made. Pics will...

HAPPY HALLOWEEEEEN!

A magnitude-5.6 earthquake shook my apt. a few hours ago.

Anywho, a grrl/boi friend and I took Selket miao!! to Half Moon Bay on Sunday to help me pick out a pumpkin and we did a photo shoot (kitty mostly modeled, humans mostly clicked) in the adjacent corn maze. She's a Jungle hybrid but the locals assumed she was a bobcat and were alternately...

We had our own little ritual to respect the dead, and the changing of the seasons, and anyone/thing we might have missed...
a bit of sage and incense smudging and burning here and there, candles, and lots of intention and respect...
i think part of my mood swing could be attributed to an additional bit of shamanicness where i helped mgal get rid of an oncoming cold or ailment... i don't think i purged it enough after i took it on.
or... i was just moody
