If holiday spending hasn't completely burned a hole in your pocket, please consider sending money to Pretty Bird Woman House.

More than one in three indigenous American women will be raped in her lifetime. PBWH fights the good fight for the Lakota, bless 'em. My mom (who is, as always, one of the coolest, most wonderful people I know) and I are about to...

You and your mom are amazing.

Schiavona will obviously be eaten last... what with his misspelling the name. wink

I miss you, terribly. I must see you and all your awesomeness soon - when will you be back in town for me to flirt with...?

What is this about another girlie night? Shall I bring a curling iron and cute undies?

kelseybee:

My birthday was awesome.

This May, it will be five years since I first graced this site with my dirty ass and dirtier mouth. I had my shtick, which has remained fairly consistent through the years. I've always been one of the more accessible girls, I guess.

Alas, places change, and, I suppose, so do I.
I've been spending less time around here; I barely...

I have enjoyed reading your blog. It is one of the few reasons that I stick around this growing corner of cyberspace. I thank you for that. Brightest blessings.

...By necessity, I suppose, it is difficult for me to explain in English exactly what I mean. I can only say that an incendium is in its nature entirely different from the feu with which a Frenchman lights his cigarette, and both are very different from the stark, inhuman pur that the Greeks knew, the pur that roared from the towers of Ilion or leapt...

I'll add that one to my list. I'm on a bit of a reading craze lately; I have the Ultimate Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, The Lord of the Rings (50th Aniv. Edition, leather cover and all sorts of goodies) and Ubik on the list so far. In the middle of The Simarillion right now.

Yes...sad. I've never read LotR. frown

Okay, I feel like I owe y'all something, since you've been so patient both during my extended absences and my maudlin scribblin'. There's so much gorgeousness and gorgeousity out there in this great big beautiful world and the fact that I'm sitting around crying in my Cheerios is downright stupid.

I have a lot to be happy about; for example, today I realized that I...

perhaps you already "know" about this howling wolf bank, but it's now on "sale"

Apologies for being at best stupid, at worst uninteresting.

You might find To Take Place by Jonathan Z Smith useful in your paper. Or not, if it's already in a good flow.

I promise I'll be back soon.

From Dark Night of the Soul, St. John of the Cross:

CHAPTER V

Sets down the first line and begins to explain how this dark contemplation is not only night for the soul but is also grief and torment.

THIS dark night is an inflowing of God into the soul, which purges it from its ignorances and imperfections, habitual natural and spiritual, and which...

It's a shame that secular America is so bent on throwing out religion's babies along with it's bathwater.
And it's a shame that religious America... well, that more or less covers it I guess.

When it seems appropriate I try to remind folks that nobody enjoyed a good metaphor more than Christ wink

Have you considered doing a progressed chart? Sometimes it can help to see what Saturn is grinding over. My Saturn Return was a triple, direct over the natal point, retrograde back over it, and direct again. I know, that's a ways off yet for you, but Saturn isn't to be treated lightly at any time.

Tarnation! pygmy wasn't able to make it out Carolina ways this weekend after all; I wonder if the illness that struck me down on Thursday traveled via the intertubz to afflict her sweetness. Some other day, then.

I am sitting nude upon my knockoff Eames chair (formerly the possession of this great man) that so many of y'all have commented upon with a nice...
