My partner for my last ethnography in school Agnus decided she wanted to do an ethnography on the adult entertainment industry in Ottawa. Not quite the same as looking at traditional cultures which is what I often associate with ethnography but still was interesting.
Required me to hang with Agnus at strip clubs and the like for months on end, totally changed my perspective on the whole phenom.
I wish I knew about more ethnographies on modern subcultures would be curious to read some others.

I'll have to beg you for some barbecue recipes and other tips on Southern cookery.
I went all gooey in the knees today because they've reissued all these previously killer to find Yellow Magic Orchestra albums.. and I bought one. This Japanese group (as you may well know) are second only to Kraftwerk in their influence on electronic music. I'm still rockin' out to some Magma cd I found a few weeks ago.. today I splurged (or rather just didn't purchase fabulous socks and towels like I was going to) and also bought Van Morrison's "Astral Weeks".
Badminton makes my soul grow stronger. Indeedy.
