Tonality

Group Thread in photography
analogcolor

To be honest, I blow at photoshop when it comes to creating tones in photos. I know how to use curves and I know a good deal about photoshop in general. I jsut don't know the best way to make good tonalities in PS. I want to learn how to …

Except ACR doesn't have curve control. You have to export to JPEG before you can do curve adjustments.

buy The Photoshop Book For Digital Photographers by Scott Kelby. I learned mostly by trial and error too, but this book helps with the basics so you can screw around on your own armed with the basics.

I just recently joined curves, and am trying to figure out if it was a good decision. I don't mind going there, but I was moderately active before joining, and I don't know if it will work. It seems catered to people who were sedentary before joining. Any members? If …

Whoa..this hasn't been talked about in a while. I know it's controversial considering a male pro-life advocate owns the franchise, but I have been going since January and I love it. I work-out outside of curves as well, but it's a nice place to get an overall workout for my body.

Does anyone else go?

Im rejoining today. As much as i wanna do a little strength training, i NEVER do it at the gym... Curves helps firm me up, but it's hella expensive.

So i'm new to the group and as i'm going through the sets I've noticed quite a few curved penis' (or it could be numerous sets of a few people) but i've personally never encountered one. it's peaks my interest a bit, girls, guys ,who ever , perks?? disadvantages?? feel …

I think this would be better served in another group. Try here.

Specifically, in a navel piercing.
Is there a reason curved barbells are used? Is it a bad idea to use a straight barbell in a navel piercing? Any insight/answers would be helpful!

yea I had a long barbell in my navel for awhile. it just didn't work out for me. it snagged a lot, and the skin started to push out and get all sore and sensitive. even changing my shirt became a challenge haha.

it looks so cooool though...
bonnie:
A straight barbell will be far more likely to 'tip forward' when you sit down etc - ie. the top ball of a straight barbell would lean forward, away from your body, encouraging the piercing to migrate. It's a piercing which can grow out over time, particularly if it's done whilst you're young and therefore still growing, so having a curved (bananabar) barbell in there will keep it that little bit more tucked away, and like Arly said if you have a jewelled bar, the forward-facing jewel will sit better and be more obvious in a bananabar.

EDIT: with regards to nipple bars, my rule of thumb is if a nipple is well-developed - ie most (but not all) female nipples, a straight bar will suffice. It's so-called 'underdeveloped' or smaller nipples, particularly on men, which require a curved bar, so the piercing can sit that teeny bit deeper, kinda slightly behind the nipple, to encourage better longevity in the piercing. Basically, if you don't have much nipple, there's not much to pierce biggrin

Its Wednesday, yeah Hump day. What a most excellent day to to talk about humps bumps and curves. If I quote from a definition I might say

"Curved lines are generally used to create a sense of flow within an image.
They are also generally more aesthetically pleasing, as we associate them with soft things. Compared to straight lines, curves provide a greater dynamic influence...

When I was 10 or something, I wasn't the guy who followed styles and fashion (nor am I today). for that, other children used to make fun of me. I did not have a baseball cap, and to be cool one MUST wear a cap. I clearly remember the day my grandfather, a huge fan of Montreal Expos, gave me my first cap. At that...
