Let me preface this by saying I'm a little, morbid. In 2017 I went to see Green Day at BST in Hyde Park. The day before that, I, my girlfriend, my brother and his wife, found ourselves in, of all places, Whitechapel. We went on a Jack The Ripper tour, visiting the places where his victims were found. It was, shall we say, enlightening, and a little gross. Before that, we stopped off in the Blind Beggar, for a pint. The Blind Beggar is the pub where Ronnie Kray shot George Cornell in the head, in 1967, I believe. It is widely regarded as the event that started the downfall of the Kray twins. If you're into true crime and, perhaps, the macabre, then you should visit Whitechapel.
