Ok ok ok hear me out guys! I need a HUGE TIP! Like millions! But but... it’s not going to waste! I’m gona turn around and distribute that very large tip into microscopic tips for everyone. I tipped when I got my girlie bits done, but I didn't tip when I got my nipples. I think I was entirely too nervous for the nipples (they were my first body piercings), and they were pretty expensive to me at the time. I think I had spent all my money by then (its pretty easy on South Street) and what I had left was the $100 for the piercings.
I tipped $20 for the girlie bits because, hey he just pierced my vagina. Made me feel pretty calm about it, plus he had a really good manner about him. He's one hell of a charismatic guy. I'm two steps from going back down to Virginia again JUST for him.

I have to say that when I was still piercing, it was usually quite a shock for me to get tipped. Honestly, pocket change would've surprised me. The few times I did get tips over the 4 or so years I pierced they were amazingly generous and I was so ridiculously amazed I think I hugged a few of my customers.
Honestly, any tip is good (though occasionally it does depend on what the piercer has done for you - if they went the extra mile, it would be nice if you did too).
If you're broke, let them know you'll come back or bring them cookies, coffee, anything!
A few bucks is great.
If you know your piercer well, bring them something shiny they like (say a nifty pair of earrings you found that made you think of them, a piece of art you made, anything really...tattooists appreciate this too...dated one for 3 years and he LOVED when people brought him artwork). If you know them well enough to know their favorite food (I've known a few of my piercers and tattooists that well but I think that's rare) bring that!
Also, as for the pizza guys...not all of them make minimum wage. Some of them get paid whatever minimum waitressing wage is (here I think it's 2.15 or something ridiculous) and it's, sadly, completely legal. One of my best friends owns a pizza place and I worked at one in highschool. Remember this: Pizza guys remember you when you tip crappy or tip extremely well. If you tip crappy...welll......go watch the movie Waiting... and be prepared for the worst.

I definitely always tip my artist at least 20%!
I always give a generous tip. Their work isn't easy to do. It takes a lot of time and practice as an apprentice when they don't get paid nearly as much.
