Does anyone have insight on the best herbivorous options in San Diego? I'm heading there next weekend, but I have no personal anecdotes leading me to any places in particular.

Gosh, I hope you didn't come and go already.....Sipz Cafe has a full vegetarian menu but i think you can get anything there made vegan. It's on Claremont Mesa Blvd. west of the 805. Also, Rancho's mexican food is really good. It's not completly vegan but you can tell them to make it vegan, there have two restaurants in Ocean Beach (one on Point Loma Blvd. and one on Sunset Cliffs Blvd.) and another one in North Park at 30th and University. The Living Room coffee shop in the SDSU college area has vegan breakfast with tofu scrambler and fake sausage. The Che Cafe at UCSD has vegan dinner every nite except thursday and after you eat you can watch live music.. And, I haven't been there yet, but I hear that Pomegrante Russian-Georgian Restaurant at El Cajon Blvd. and Louisiana St. has a great atmosphere and some vegan options and then you can come see me afterwards because I live a block away.

Yeah, I was only there for a weekend. Should I be back there, I'll let you know.
