uuugh...what a rotten day. cold, clammy, cloudy, and totally boring at work.
i spent my entire day working on a skeleton unitard- a.k.a "the skeletard". basically, it's a white unitard, custom painted to look black with a white skeleton on it (with grey and yellow highlights). so that the actor looks like mr. bones.
then the bones get silver applique
and black sequins in the shadows
and bronze sequins in the highlights
and when it's all done, close up it looks like a fucking mess. a sequined nightmare.
but from far away, it looks like a plain white skeleton.
but we can't just have it white, b/c it's theatre, and you have to take into account that costumes are seen from far away, and under stage lights.
so yeah...i spent all day ironing on sequins with the barbie iron. fun fun fun.
but at least i get to come home to all sorts of love and support from dr gonzo and you all!
gonzo is on day 4 of no smoking. not one little puff, go gonzo! last night was a real test for him, as we went out drinking and i was smoking in the car on the way home. but he stuck it out, and i keep telling him that at this point, he wouldn't even enjoy a cigarette if he had one.
i'm also starting to think that if i also quit, i can finally go on that wacky birth control that only lets you have your period 4 times a year. i have a really hard time with my period as it is (and as a smoker your not supposed to use hormonal birth control, it fucks up your heart). i'm not going to disgust you with specifics about the monthly torture, but i will say that i used to get cramps so bad that i'd puke.
i've also heard that many of the modern womans health problems may be attributed to the fact that we have so many less children than back in the day, like when farm women needed to have 15 kids to do all the chores. all the periods we're having are killing us! but i've also heard that this birth control that stops your period is not very popular right now. which is shocking, as i could imagine that most women would jump at the chance to spend 75% less time being bloated, pimply, emotional, crampy, achey, and just plain gross. i know i would!
so yeah, maybe that can be my motivator for smoking cessation.
anyway, thanks to all of you who stuck up for me, i really appreciate it.
now i'm sure i have something important to do...
