It has gotten SO cold here suddenly! I spent like 3 or 4 years doing drywall in Alberta and Saskatchewan(reasons for not being on/an SG yet) and enjoyed some seriously intense winters there. We were once in the coldest place on Earth, Moosomin SK over Christmas. It was -60 degrees celcius without the windchill, with an extreme weather warning: Do not go outdoors. I don't recommend you ever visit this town of 2500 in the middle of a sea of snow covered hay. Don't get me wrong, I am the biggest winter fan out there, a sea of snow is a gorgeous encounter. It sparkles and it's fluffy and it's so cold that your first breath of icy air makes you cough. Spend a few minutes outdoors and your skin burns. So aside from looking at it, that's all it's worth.
I love living in my hometown on Vancouver Island. It's humid and generally one of the mildest places to live....
But this week is nutty! It is supposed to be like -17 tonight! That almost never happens here!
At least I have a plan... a toasty woodstove to warm up to and a sewing room that desperately needs some attention if anyone's gonna get a Christmas present and I'm ever gonna have my style back...
A couple of friends coming over tomorrow to chill should be a fun boost of inspiration... and fun, of course. :D
