So excited that my vegetable seeds have taken hold and are sprouting like mad. As usual, the arugula is first and strongest. Radishes are coming a close second. can't wait for spinach. Although I didn't plant it from seed, the rhubarb is nearly ready to be harvested. Ditto the chives and oregano that overwintered nicely.
dezzie:
We just had a apple harvest. smile and our chives are totally out of control. It's great to have fresh chives. Thanks for the comment on my set Walk Without Rhythm doll.

This may sound corny, but every time my wife and I have sex it feels new and exciting. And I think, wow we should do this more often.

I couldn't get warm today. The apartment was chilly. My hands and ass cheeks were like popsicles. So only recourse was to plunge into a hot bath. Ah sweet relief.
merlowe:

Every few months I try to grow my beard into a point a la Thelonious Monk but I never have the patience to go the distance. The beard starts to get a little bushy and I look more like a lumberjack. Then out come the clippers and I take it all back down to the start.

I've just started getting my first summer tomatoes and my third sowing of arugula is almost ready to harvest. Also for some odd reason there are still a few fava beans coming to fruition. I thought they were a cool season crop only.

I never knew how much I enjoyed Swiss Chard until I started growing my own this season. I have been simply sauteing it with garlic, onions, and olive oil. Yummy.
koreilyn:
Thank you for the comment on my picture. biggrin
praesepe:
Yay a foodie ! I'm growing a variety by the name of "orange fantasia" and it looks great but is way too small to eat right now.

Thank you so much for the add, I enjoy people who like good food smile

Tonight for dinner I did a wild salmon in a lemon, shallot, caper and dill sauce. Side dish was farro with leeks, garlic, shallots and tomato sauce. Lastly a spinach salad with bleu cheese. Now I am watching a documentary called King Corn.

Looking forward to my upcoming trip to NYC. Lots of food, art and old friends on the itinerary. And of course a walk through the Cherry trees at Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

I know I should have posted this the day after the election, but here it is now. Election night I was down at Grant Park at the Obama rally and I was filled with pride, joy, passion and hope. My faith has been restored. The night was a moment of sweet beauty, a coming together of so many peoples. I never thought I would bear...

Celebrated by 42nd birthday with a night out at a fine Italian style pizzeria. You know the real deal, Neapolitan style thin crust pizza with the lightest of sauces and freshest of ingredients. And the gelato. Mama mia! Couldn't get much better than that.
