What's the vibe like between you two? Are you still in touch? He'll probably think you want more than just friends if you're pursuing hangouts, and if he's not looking for more than sex then he'll probably dodge your offers to hang. Best thing to do is be up-front and say you're not looking for strings, just looking for a not-crazy person to eat and drink with once in a while.
