Morning y’all! Here’s a little pre-workout Selfie. It’s been an interesting time since the pandemic started to find motivation (for me at least) with staying active and healthy. I teach/taught yoga before the pandemic started so yoga has ALWAYS been my go to workout. When quarantine started it didn’t feel the same to do yoga at home- not at my studio with my friends and that wonderful energy. So, I started walking in March and got a Fitbit health tracker. I would walk 3miles (5k) each time I went on my walk and I really loved walking. It’s crazy to me how many calories you burn just by walking! But then around May/June it reached 100 degrees plus where I live and walking became a little tough. So, I found an app (HIIT WORKOUTS) and started doing HIIT workouts at home in my office space, which I have been enjoying. It’s nice because the app has anywhere from 7min videos to 45min+ videos so no matter what it’s easy to get some movement in. I also love to dance so usually after my HIIT workout I’ll just play some music and dance around.
Working out or moving your body isn’t just about getting fit or losing weight but about getting stagnant energy moving in our bodies and staying healthy both mentally and physically! So many of us (especially now) are spending lots of time sitting, it’s great to try turning on your favorite song and dancing for 2-3min or even just walking around your house or your neighborhood, loosening up your body and relieving stress and tension. SHAKE IT OUT, as I usually say... or TWERK IT OUT HAHA
Other than trying to stay physical active ive been making sure to drink TONS of water. I have a hydro flask that I always have with me and I goal myself to drink 4 of the 32oz hydroflasks a day! It makes it a lot easier that I have a cute cup that I love and have decorated with lots of SG babes stickers! 💕 Anyway! I just wanted to say hello and check in and see how y’all are staying motivated and active during this year!
Xx, Zen
