I agree to a certain extent.

Humbug, indeed.

I just saw the testimonial you left me a few weeks ago. (Apparently there are no indicators when somone leaves you one?) Anyway, thanks. I feel complete now. biggrin

So, we had a big windstorm here on Thursday, and my power got knocked out. Rather surprising, since I live in the heart of an urban center - you don't really expect that - but there it is. We don't have much in the way of serious weather in the Seattle area, so it really caught us off guard.

Over 150,000 people within city limits...

Promises, promises. Last time you were so drunk you couldn't even figure out which end of the scissors to hold. How much longer can this farce go on?

yeah yeah yeah, tell that to the last guy.

mrcrisp:
i dunno, though. whenever he told me to go occupy myself with something shiny, he just totally blew my stance apart. i ended the night crying into a bottle of jameson and wondering why i was so completely stupid.

My existence is pointless and without hope.

Pointedness and hope are highly overrated! Especially pointedness.

Feeling any better?

I just realized I actually used the word "eleemosynary" correctly in a complete sentence last Saturday.

you poor thing.
Sleep tight wink
northron:
I had been thinking of zakat a wee bit too much of late, but eleemosynary is a concept easier to digest for Westerners. I doubt I could pull off use in a sentence tho'.

Congrats on using 'Punk as fuck' in the 13 thread. Good and silly, that.

Move along, nothing to see here, folks.

Yep, misanthropy and the man keepin' me down. Military is okay, but an interesting place to observe societal shift take place. It's pretty ugly to see selfishness, arrogance, and self-aggrandizing becoming the norm.

War, I had to decide to do things for the man to my left and right, and try to be just in all actions. The reasons are not for me to do more with than ponder.

Civil-rights attorney? Whoof, I see you'll be busy. A good field, tho'. My girl seems to think I'll make an excellent paramedic; she's likely correct. We'll see.

Okay, now you've excited my curiosity.

My life is worthless and without hope.

I'm just overwhelmed by my crappy dead-end job that doesn't pay me enough to keep me from sinking further and further into debt with each paycheck, which a trained monkey could actually do better. Why the fuck did I go to college? I should've just stayed a goddamn toilet-scrubber. At least I was debt-free, then, and it...

Hey, sometimes if you don't throw yourself a pity party....no one else will. blackeyed

Sorry you're feeling a little despondent over this. Dead end jobs are no fun especially when we know we're trained and educated for something better. Keep searching!
northron:
I've always considered a job to be: a way to earn money whilst looking for something better, and, a sad necessity. What do you want to do?

I just disowned my father today.

Again.

Goddamnit.

EDIT

Well, we're talking again, but I don't know yet whether it's an improvement.

It's a sordid and pathetic family drama, one that wouldn't even be coming up if, for instance, I were actually capable of the self-reliance that American capitalism expects of me. Well, maybe it would anyway.

Moreover, as with any family drama, explaining the...

I had no idea of the testimonial!

Hehe. I know. I never had a reason to look, and apparently, there isn't a note sent out or anything.

I don't want to go to work today. I especially didn't want to go to work yesterday. I don't want to go to work tomorrow. And I seriously don't want to go to work on Sunday.

I told one of my acquaintances at the site last night how much money I make, after he'd been complaining about how little he was paid, and he was...

Are you enjoying all that lovely snow up there? Most of our snow is gone and we're left with lovely sheets of sporadic ice on the roads. Here's an equation for you:

Ice + Oregonians = dumb ass drivers! mad

Guess we're in for cold and frigid all week long!

aren't ALL cats lazy? wink I think it's in their official job description.

Oh! You fancy that you would stun me in to silence.

Any continued discussion of evil, and where it lies, should be conducted in quieter quarters.

So, I went to see the beast today, and he's doing a lot better. His right pec is shaved and it's got a little loop of white fabric tube stitched in it, but surprisingly enough it doesn't seem to be bothering him. He's not particularly active, yet, but he's moving fluidly, as a cat should, and his coat is soft and glossy again (his fur...

If your cat ever does have to take pill medication, there are these little hollow treats that you can buy to stuff the pill inside. They're called "Pill Poppers" I believe. Our cats gobble 'em up. smile

By the way,
I shall be declaring a holy war upon you in the name of my feline masters.

I agree with JayRatch, you really amazed me with your articulate banter. Thank for being one of the few compassionate and educated people on SG. wink
