Many weeks have gone by and with that the blur of college classes went by with it. I'm officially half way done with my semester, and I finally felt as though an update was in order.
I'm finally almost recovered from my bout with the flu (in the end it was defeated, but with heavy losses on both sides). Right before I became ill, my girlfriend and our other roommate got into this huge argument. I won't go into the details, but needless to say I decided not to stop it. It made more sense to let fate take its course.
Fast forward two weeks.
Today, D came home to find that our roommate decided to pack up all of her belongings and move out. Today. Yesterday, everything was where it was supposed to be. Today, her, her dog, her mother, and all of her stuff are just gone.
Fearing the worst, we decided to call the owners of the apartment to find out if D and I had to leave at the end of the month, and to check on the status of the rent. As it turns out, this is as much of a surprise to her as it is to us. No notice, no goodbye.
Now that the initial shock has worn off, I honestly can't say I'm unhappy about all of this. The situation was getting pretty bad, and our roommate had started to get more and more unstable. As luck would have it, a friend of a friend may need a place to live, and guess what - we have the space.
As it stands now, we've decided to stay through February even if we don't end up adopting another roommate situation, given that Italy and the holidays are fast approaching.
There is one thing I'm really glad about... I don't have to fight for the bathroom time anymore.
This is Yungeinstein, signing out.
