interpol has been ringing in my head since their show at bottom of the hill last week. i totally understand how tony wilson (the subject of '24 hour party people') felt watching the sex pistols for the first time... interpol showed me the possibilities of rock music, where it could take someone willing for the ride... i seriously thought about going home and burning all my slowcore recfords...
so, i need to write a short story for my creative wriitng class. i'll probably modernize a greek myth; up until this afternoon, i was fixated on the story of danae and zeus -- however, i don't think i can effectively write from the voice of a sixteen year old girl for twelve pages... now, i've turned my attention to the tale of orpheus and eurydice and will likely take my inspiration from these pages...
