First: I'm about to be a published writer! The editor of AntipodeanSF, an Australian/New Zealand online speculative fiction magazine, liked one of my stories (first submission for that story) and we're in the process of revision so that it can be published... whenever... some issue in the future, I don't know. My writing shall forever be preserved in the Melbourne hall of... records or something. I don't know. But bottom line: actually being published is enough for me.
My new job at a hobby distributor is going well. Part-time. Some warehouse work; some storefront work. There's so much interesting crap sitting around that its really fun right now. I got offered full-time because they're firing someone and, even though I've been there just over a week, they like my work ethic (thank you dad for teaching me something useful). I turned the full-time down. It's been years since I worked full-time, and my depression ended up getting to me every time. Part-time is great for now. We'll see how I feel in about a year.
